About this product
The Habitat Stars High Sleeper gives your child a place to sleep, study and keep their stuff organised, all within the footprint of a single bed. Made from solid wood with a sturdy frame that stands up to daily use, it features a full-length desk underneath and plenty of shelving for books, toys and school bits. The ladder has flat rungs kinder on little feet and can be positioned at either end to suit your room layout. Chunky star cut-outs and a white painted finish give it a playful look that fits kids' bedrooms. Suitable for ages 6 and over, with a maximum user weight of 120kg.
The desk area provides workspace for homework, crafts or hobbies without taking up extra floor space. Shelves keep everything within reach and off the floor, helpful in smaller bedrooms. Wall-mounting brackets must be fitted to keep the structure stable and secure, essential with raised beds to prevent tipping. The ladder can go on either side, fitting different room layouts. Mattress isn't included; for safety, use one no deeper than 16cm. Self-assembly required with two people recommended; all fixings and instructions provided. Comes with a two-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Do not buy
A very poor bed. Flimsy, very creaky and unsafe. Not suitable for anybody yet alone children. In all fairness to Argos they refunded me fully so can’t complain bar the hours it took me to build it and then I build it to return.

Good value high sleeper for maximising floor space
Overall we’re really happy with the bed, we were struggling to find a cabin bed for our daughters room that would fit within a 2 metre wall space, most are too long so we were happy to see this at a reasonable price. Instructions were clear and easy to follow with 2 people building it. My daughter is chuffed to bits with her new bed and large useful desk area and her smallish bedroom now seems to have a lot more floor space which is what we had hoped for. Negatives are that the steps are a bit narrow and steep as they are inline with the bed and not angled. As others have said the bed does creak a lot and definitely needs to be secured well to the wall at both sides. The bed is very high and not that parent friendly so it poses a few challenges that we hadn’t anticipated, like changing the sheets and reading bedtime stories!

It’s ok.
I bought this for my 9 year old. Quality is ok. Quite big table underneath, which is good for homework, etc. Good for small room. Downside is that you can’t see your child in bed, because it is so high up.

“ The Stars high sleeper is tested to EN 747 safety standard.
The bed base is there tested with an Ø 20cm loading pad pressing 10 times 1200 Newton / 120 kg. in 30 seconds with a 10cm foam mattress on the bed base.
So, the actual weight capacity is 120kg. ”

“ Yes, all the shelves can be left out, the desk will work fine without it.
But if it´s because the customer wants to have a PC monitor etc. on the desk, the bottom shelf and short partition in one side could be left out, just keeping the upper shelf under the bed frame for stability. The shelves to the other side could then stay. ”
