Lovely, but flawed…

Although the basket is lovely and was a nice purchase in the sale, the methods used to make it (much like it’s plain sibling, available for slightly less money) are very flawed. After the hassle of returning the regular belly basket (due to the bottom half of it looking a strange, off-green colour), I bought this one, only to realise days later that the black section’s paintwork was haphazard and patchy. Up close, the edges look like it was painted by hand in a hurry, and lacks the level of quality expected from Habitat. As much as I love Habitat. It’s clear that many items that are reduced or sold as sale items, are knowingly flawed. The cynic in me feels as though these two-tone baskets were in fact just the regular ones, painted quickly as a means of salvaging a whole line of baskets, discoloured during the making process, but who knows for sure. Three stars as it’s not the end of the world, it looks good from afar and Habitat offered me compensation once contacted.
