Arrived faulty
Unfortunately the TV had a big foggy patch in the middle of the screen and also the left corner. From reading online this indicates LED failure and is common in Hisense TVs around the 2 year mark, right after the warranty has expired. Of course this TV arrived brand new like that which was a huge red flag. I returned the TV for a full refund. So Argos were good about it, no fault with them. But I was put right off Hisense TVs, so I bought an LG TV instead, and from elsewhere in order to get a 6 year warranty. Feel much safer now and the LG TV is amazing. Sorry Hisense but I don’t trust your quality or longevity anymore.

New TV
Bought this a month ago and wanted to see how the Hisense 50" TV performed before reviewing: Our old LG TV was 43" and worked ok but the main problem was with automatic brightness settings and my wife, who watches more TV than me hated it as many programmes, particularly US ones were too dark. The Hisense brightness can be adjusted although the main settings is good. Picture quality is excellent. Freely is good too but we can still record on our Humax box as that comes in via an hdmi cable. The spec says no aerial required but there is a socket on the TV but Freely works well through the broadband. Sound is good too as we thought we might need a soundbar. All in all a great buy from Argos

A Brilliant TV that outsmarted a major brand
After three years our old TV failed and we needed to replace it. After a truly awful experience with a leading high street retailer and a TV that cost far more being very poor quality, we turned to Argos and Highsense. The TV is absolutely spot on! £250 cheaper than the previous one everything is better. Blacks are better, colour is more natural, contrast is spot on, and do a HDR demo on youtuve and you'll be blown away by the resolution and definition. Freely is a nice bonus as well. The highsense OS is simple and neat to use. All in all a great purchase and experience from Argos as well.

I can advise the following for: Hisense 50 Inch 50E78QTUK Smart 4K UHD HDR QLED Freely TV.
You would have to have a digital aerial on this TV to access Freeview channels. This can be an external aerial that has been fitted by an engineer, or an indoor aerial that you can purchase and fit yourself.
