Persistent chemical taste and smell when boiling.
Despite thoroughly washing the kettle, repeatedly boiling and discarding fresh water, and cleaning it with bicarbonate of soda, it continues to produce a strong chemical or plastic smell when heated. The smell noticeably taints the water and makes tea taste unpleasant. The same mains tap water has no unusual smell or taste when boiled in my normal household kettle, so the problem appears to be specific to this kettle. It smells fine when cold after cleaning, but the chemical odour returns as soon as the water is boiled. Repeated cleaning has not resolved the issue, so I have replaced it.

Great kettle 1 litre boils quickly
I bought one for an elderly relative who only boils 1-2 cups at a time. Also they needed a lighter weight kettle with a larger fill display. This ticks all the boxes and looks good on the counter. Highly recommend it and I have even bought another one for myself.

Small but nice
I wanted this kettle to match the toaster. It goes lovely in my new kitchen, only small let down is its very small you can really only make 2/ 3 cups of tea at one go . It only holds a small amount of water. Shame they didn't do a larger one.
