Changes by Blink reduces functionality and appeal.
The system and cameras are decent, however Blink’s decision to remove the ability to store footage to an SD card in the sync module was a terrible decision. Forcing customers into the subscription model has taken away one of the most appealing features from this security system. Corporate greed over customer consideration can be the only reason.

Great Camera
Easy to set up and great quality. I was sceptical at first because of reading reviews but it was super easy to set up and so far the battery life is going strong. I think the negative reviews are from people that don't have a clue or have just received faulty batteries.

Each module can support up to ten cameras and each system can take ten modules equals 100 cameras per system. I asked Blink Customer Service and this was their reply.

The Blink Outdoor 4 HD Smart Security Camera System - Pack of 1, does not connect directly to the WiFi and needs a Sync Module Core for connection.
The Sync Module Core is included in the box with this listing.
Includes one Outdoor 4 camera, one Sync Module Core, two AA lithium metal batteries, one mounting kit, one USB cable, and one power adapter.

Sync Module Core supports Cloud Storage with an active Blink Subscription Plan or trial. Local Storage and Clip Backup are not available for Sync Module Core...so the product states.
