Great budget iron
This has been a great iron. Previous irons have ended up getting black marks on the bottom. 6 months in and none of that.

DO NOT BUY THIS IRON
Intermittent steam fault after a year of use then a large discoloured burn mark appeared. I am a competent ironer: I did not burn any textiles. This burn has appeared from within the sole plate. This is the worst iron I have ever owned and this experience has put me off Breville as a brand. Multiple reviewers have left similar comments to mine yet Breville continue to sell this potentially dangerous iron. Unfortunately mine is just a few weeks out of its one year warranty. I will hold onto it for a few weeks if Breville wish to take the iron off me and investigate.

To maintain Breville VIN401 iron, you need to use the self‑clean function regularly to remove mineral deposits, wipe the exterior and soleplate with a soft damp cloth once cooled, rely on the built‑in anti‑scale filter, and always empty the water tank and let the iron cool fully before storing. If you live in a hard‑water area, you should descale more frequently to maintain performance.
Paracetamol tablets- rub side of tablet onto hot soleplate. The marks lift away really easily
Hi there!
To clean black marks from the soleplate of your Breville VIN401-01 iron, make sure the iron is unplugged and completely cool. Mix a small amount of baking soda with water to form a paste, then gently apply it onto the marks using a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid using anything abrasive, as this can damage the non-stick coating. Once clean, wipe off any residue with a damp cloth and dry the soleplate thoroughly. For lighter marks, slightly warm the iron and rub it over a damp cotton cloth sprinkled with salt. Never use harsh cleaners or sharp tools, as these can permanently damage the soleplate.

Hi Lisa!
The iron's weight is 1.63KG. If you have any other questions, please contact us via website: https://www.breville.co.uk... or via phone 0800 028 7154. We are open Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
Hi,
There has been a change in the design. In the newer version, the holes closer to the bottom part of the soleplate have not been fully stamped on, there is no steam chamber behind it so it has the same performance when it comes to the steam function.
Hello Julie,
According to Ironsexpert UK, the cord length of the Breville VIN401 DiamondXpress Steam Iron is 3 meters. However, if you have measured the cord length and found it to be 2.5 meters, then it is possible that the product you received has a shorter cord than advertised. In this case, I would recommend contacting Customer Services - 0345 640 2020 alternately social media or live chat will help and advise you.

If it’s coming from the sole plate and it’s excessive there is a fault on the iron I would stop using and return it
I found it did too, if I filled it to the maximum. Try only filling half way. Very happy with mine, irons well.
If possible return to store as mine does not leak water at all.
