Major decrease in quality
I bought several of these in early spring and they were great—sturdy, well-made, no gaps for water and ice to get i to snd cause damage. This time I could not believe how poor the quality is. The pieces of wood that make up the fence are different lengths and many are not attached securely the frame, leaving large gaps. The wood is VERY damp and green so that it’s impossible to paint properly. Total rip-off.

Could be better
Replacing these along a flower bed after five years because the last batch had rotted and started falling apart. You can't just hammer them into the ground, they will fall apart, so you have to dig a trench with deep holes for the stakes at the ends and then fill-in with soil. Painting them this time to see if they last longer. Very rough finish. Once in place they do the job.

Might be a good idea. I put mine down just like that.. some bits look a bit black now - but they are quite sturdy otherwise!

Having checked with the supplier for you I can let you know they say No it is not toxic. It's just a water based preservative that is Impregnated into the timber to give it a longer life, when put in or next to the ground.
