Carbon monoxide's got no smell, no colour, no warning signs. That's why they call it the silent killer. This alarm alerts you if levels get dangerous, and it'll let you know when the sensor's reached the end of its life so you're never running on empty. It's small enough to sit on a shelf or you can mount it on the wall or ceiling. Runs on two AA batteries which come in the box, so no wiring needed. Hush button silences false alarms, test button checks it's working. BSI certified and factory-tested before it leaves. This twin pack gives you coverage for two rooms or floors.
Battery-powered operation means you can place it anywhere without hunting for a socket. The hush function stops nuisance beeping when you've burnt the toast. This was bought as a replacement for one that had reached its lifespan It only requires 2 AA batteries which are included and these were easy to install. I just have mine freestanding on a unit beside my boiler.

Life saving device from Argos.
I purchased a carbon monoxide monitor for use next to my multifuel stove which is situated In my living room. Without this device I could die from the invisible fumes from my fire. I'd simply go to sleep and not wake up. The device itself is compact, easy to install and check. Argos even supplied the batteries.

Yes, you can use this carbon monoxide abroad on your holiday. However, you will need to ensure the batteries are removed from the alarm before travelling. Also ensure you check with your airline that they will accept an alarm onboard and if they have any requirements you need to adhere to

The Kidde Single Carbon Monoxide Alarm 700/1617 -The supplier advise -Carbon monoxide (CO) and combination alarms should be mounted in or near bedrooms and living areas, no closer than 20cm from the ceiling. If mounting on a ceiling, please make sure it is at least 20cm away from the wall. Because carbon monoxide is almost the same density as air, it will disperse evenly throughout the air in a room.
We recommend you install a carbon monoxide or combination alarm on each level of a multi-level home. If your home has only one CO or combination alarm, it should be installed in the main bedroom or in the hallway outside of the sleeping areas. Place the alarm at least 1.5m away from fuel-burning appliances. Make sure nothing is covering or obstructing the unit. Do not place the unit in dead air spaces or next to a window or door. CAUTION: Carbon Monoxide alarms will only indicate the presence of carbon monoxide at the sensor. Carbon monoxide may be present in other areas of your home
