Bought the Tapo doorbell because, with the addition of a MicroSD card, there is no need for any recurring subscription. Video quality is great, the doorbell sound comes from the hub, which attaches to our home router with an ethernet connection. Priced at £80 when I purchased it, it seems goo value.

The image on the doorbell once in position is great. Only negative I have, is the number of notifications I am getting. Had to turn down the sensitivity and alarm area to literally just in front of the door as any person or vehicle passing on the street was causing an alert. Price was good and app links well, bringing an additional outdoor camera onto the same home page

Our old-fashioned doorbell packed in so decided to go moden with a doorbell camera. After some research we settled on this Tapo D230S1. Takes a bit of setting up but works great with clear videos. This model includes a hub which holds the SD card and is also the indoor bell. So the storage is inside the house and not in the doorbell.

Great camera with superb resolution and sound. It is subscription free and great detection and ai detection through the tapo app. I've used this specific camera for a few years now.

Great features
Excellent product, we now have two on our front drive facing doors. Very good coverage and early warning system of motion. Needs microsd cards which are getting harder to source due to supply issues. Very good recordings. Hub needs to be set up via ethernet cable and can then be reinstalled as wireless for ease of placement needs electric socket. All Tapo products operated via app which is very good. Happy customer.

Great replacement for RING doorbell
Very pleased with this product. Perfect alternative for people who don't want to be ripped off by paying £50 a year for their RING doorbell. Images can be stored inside the house on a Micro SD card (not supplied) so no more yearly payments. Very easy to set up. Definitely recommend.

Door bell with satisfaction
From start to finish of installation of unit and software on Android phone a breeze. Tested on full settings but we set it too the lowest setting to save battery, works great for my elderly parents. No monthly outlay, we did install a micro SD card in main unit to safe files etc. 2 months on still working great.

I can advise that the Tapo D230S1 can be fitted to a door frame or wall using either the included adhesive for a drill-free installation or with screws and wall anchors for a more secure, permanent mount.
