The unit doesn't keep a good shape unless it's full of shoes. It takes my sitting down weight. In my opinion the storage unit looks better in the picture

Really handy storage that looks smart
I looked at larger end of bed ottomans before deciding on two of these. They are very affordable and look smart. They are easy to set up and hold their shape well once filled with whatever you want. I have mine stuffed with winter hats, gloves, wrist warmers and thick socks. Hubby has filled his with his fascinatingly large sock collection. They are handy to drop clothes on at night, and the round shape is less likely to result in a stubbed toe in the dark. They are not high end, but the quality is absolutely fine. If you are looking for something sturdy to sit on I would advise buying something more expensive. The lids need settling back down after opening rather than just plopping them down like you would do for a hinged lid ottoman, but again, they are not high end furniture. They are really very handy little things!

Half covered Ottoman Shoe holder
I ordered an ottoman which was not what I expected top lid only no base wrong description online. Using old lamp shade for container which presumably the ottoman purpose was for a shoe holder. Not a good promotion. Will carry on looking for a decent one. Colour grey ok price reasonable for what it was a grey faux ottoman. Collection by myself in store maybe they saw me coming.
