Customers Say
The Bosch cooker hood offers good performance and value for money, but many users report it is quite noisy, lacks a carbon filter, and has confusing installation instructions. Overall, it is a solid choice for effective kitchen ventilation.

Great features and design
Very good product regarding price quality

Does the job but overpriced for what it is.
After two cheaper brands of similar hoods only lasted 2-3 years (switches breaking etc), I thought I would pay 3 x times as much and order a Bosch. It comes in substantially better packaging than the cheaper brands I have previously bought. Overall, the quality seems slightly better - but certainly not 2-3 times better. Also, it does NOT come with the required carbon filter - which is not easy to source and cost another 10% of the price of this hood. The other thing is the instructions are rubbish and contradictory. They provide a single paper drilling/mounting template which applies to multiple different models of Bosh hood with over 10 different mount positions on this single sheet of paper. Plus it comes with 5 screws even though the instructions booklet only mentions 2 screws - so again confusing. Given how hefty and substantial the packaging is - you would think they would provide a dedicated template for each specific model - a few extra sheets of paper are not going to make any difference to the environment. If you are replacing an existing hood, and checked the dimensions - just be aware that you will need a few extra cm clearance above the hood, so that you can drop the hood into the keyhole slot (where the wider, round part is where the head of a screw is normally inserted, and then the hood is slid down so that the narrower part of the slot slides over the shank of the screw, securing it in place). We did not have the extra clearance above the hood - so my son had to hold the hood in place whilst I marked the position of the drill hole and then remove the hood, drill the hole, reposition the hood and screw it in place whilst my son held the hood in place again! Not easy trying to use a screwdriver into the narrow confines of the hood. Lets hope this lasts longer that the previous two hoods. If this was at least 25-30% cheaper, had better instructions and came with the carbon filter I would have given 5 stars

Rear Venting
This item was purchased specifically because it had the option of being rear venting, which was vital in our case. Rear venting hoods are few and far between. The item is fairly well built (being Bosch) and seems to work quite well (limited use, 2 weeks so far). The hood is as noisy as one would expect but not excessively so and most of the time it is only used on the lowest sttings. It is neat looking and very easy to use. Our one negative point is that it is stainless steel and shows marks easily. We would have preferred a black hood but had no choice. Altogether quite pleased with it so far.
