Breville toaster
Bought this toaster as it matches breville kettle already purchased, looks good, Takes a long time to brown standard loaf as heating elements are wide apart to accommodate crumpets etc. doesn’t brown top and bottom of slices and aperture is just too short to put slice in longways. Have had this toaster for some time and it’s still working. Toasting is not very consistent and crumb try is shallow.

Nice toaster, but it only lasted 20 months
It is a good toaster and matches my kettle by Breville. My same toaster did not last very long and it did blow our electrics!! We were surprised the toaster only had a 7 amp fuse, I did query this with their contact centre but they said they couldn'tcomment. . Not cheap, but comparable price to other makes. Hope this one lasts longer🫰

SMART TOASTER WIDE SLOTS
I bought this last week to replace the same model toaster that I had which only lasted 18 months. Hope this one lasts longer. The only reason I purchased the same model again was due to the wide slots.

Not good for Warburton Toatie sliced bread
Don't. Just dont. Flimsy. Had to bend a wharburtons toastie thick slice of bread in to the slot. Yes it takes thick bread but IT DOES NOT TAKE A NORMAL LENGTH OF BREAD. Went to Lakeland as they have a no quibble three year product guarantee returns policy. Tower Odyssey is perfect.

Breville VTR003 toaster is designed to accommodate standard sliced bread. However, Warburtons bread slices are generally thicker and taller than standard bread, and may not fit comfortably or toast evenly in this model.

I can confirm that model VTR001 features variable width slots, which means it can accommodate thick slices of bread as well as crumpets and bagels comfortably. The dimensions of the bread slots are: length 14.0 x width 3.7 cm x depth 13.5 cm.

It sounds like your toaster might be faulty — the cancel button shouldn’t stay on constantly, and it definitely shouldn't pop up so quickly without heating the bread. Sadly the sizes provided by the Breville Team were not correct. The space for the bread is width 130mm and height 120mm so my bread did not fit so am having to return the toaster. Shame someone cannot use a ruler!
I have however found a really good toaster with nice wide slots 160mm so plenty of room for farmhouse loaves. Its a Russell Hobbs 26551, same make as my old one. Got it in Tescos.
No, this toaster does not hold full size sliced bread like Warburton. Waste of money!
