Nice design but tripped electricity
I was happy with the toaster until it tripped the electricity after only using a few times. Maybe it’s just this particular toaster. Will replace with another and see it it’s okay

I can confirm that model VTR001 features variable width slots, which means it can accommodate thick slices of bread as well as crumpets and bagels comfortably. The dimensions of the bread slots are: length 14.0 x width 3.7 cm x depth 13.5 cm.

It sounds like your toaster might be faulty — the cancel button shouldn’t stay on constantly, and it definitely shouldn't pop up so quickly without heating the bread. We’d recommend reaching out to the retailer you purchased it from to arrange a replacement. We're truly sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Sadly the sizes provided by the Breville Team were not correct. The space for the bread is width 130mm and height 120mm so my bread did not fit so am having to return the toaster. Shame someone cannot use a ruler!
I have however found a really good toaster with nice wide slots 160mm so plenty of room for farmhouse loaves. Its a Russell Hobbs 26551, same make as my old one. Got it in Tescos.
No, this toaster does not hold full size sliced bread like Warburton. Waste of money!

Having checked I can see this does not have a Bagel option however you are still able to toast bagels with this toaster. It has variable browning and lift and look features.
