Customers Say
Effective for small rooms, easy to use, and good value. Noisy operation and short hose limit placement. Not suitable for larger spaces; some found it underpowered but overall a helpful cooling solution.

Not great for medium to small rooms
Purchased this as I finally decided to invest in AC for the bedroom but as stated for room size it didn’t do the job. Ended up changing to a bigger one

Works well, quite large and heavy
Bought this last summer during a heatwave for our bedroom. Worked well, cooling the room to a much more comfortable temperature. Does make quite a loud blowing noise, but that didn't bother us. The machine is quite large and heavy and the extractor tube (which blows out hot air) is also quite large (approx 20cm diameter), but we're very pleased with it.

It was better than a fan
Bought it to use in a small office, it's ok enough but just seems to struggle to get low and stay low. Bought a bigger unit in the real humid conditions of last summer for the bedroom and it was worth the extra for the bigger version.

Nice and cool
For once I’m not dreading the summer nights! Very loud but I’ll take that over being hot.

Perfect a/c unit for a lge rm or a static caravan

Ideal for the upcoming hot days ahead!
I purchased this unit in anticipation of some warmer days, as I have small children who find it difficult to sleep in the heat. Living in an old house, it can get quite uncomfortable during hot weather. This air conditioner significantly improved our nights by providing a comfortable environment and operating quietly, which was great. However, I did notice that the extraction tube could be longer. This made it a bit challenging to position the unit effectively next to our window, but it didn’t compromise its overall performance.

Hello Nazia.
Challenge 5K Air Conditioner:
The unit includes a 150cm exhaust hose for external ventilation, but it does not come with a window seal kit. It’s designed to be vented similarly to a tumble dryer. However, universal window seal kits are available separately if you prefer to vent the hose through a window for improved efficiency.

Hello sarah,
I can advise the following for the Challenge 5K Air Conditioner:
Apologies, this wouldn't be possible.
Thanks for using Q & A.
It will need to be powered back on manually.
As with all air conditioners, it would be unwise to connect this to a smart plug and repeatedly cut the power. It may damage the compressor. Usually theres a shutdown period where it safely shuts off the compressor when you switch it off using the buttoms or remote control which woudnt happen if power was lost abruptly.

Most portabe AC units tend to use the same size hose of 150mm. You can get the Fantronix TDVH Flexible Hose on Amazon for less than 10 pound. It fit my Delonghi AC perfectly.

Hi Louise,
It’s not uncommon for air conditioners to develop a musty or damp smell. Here are some steps you can take to address and prevent this issue:
Dirty air filters can harbor mold and mildew. Clean or replace them regularly to ensure proper airflow and reduce the chance of mold growth.
Ensure the drain pan is emptying properly and clean it regularly. A blocked or dirty drain pan can cause water to stagnate, leading to mold growth. Adding a bit of distilled white vinegar to the drain pan can help prevent the growth of algae and fungi.
By following these steps, you should be able to eliminate the musty smell and prevent it from coming back
Thank you for using Q&A
You can vent it out into another room as long as its jot the same room you will feel the benefit. As for the water collected yes that can either be left in and emptied over time or use the supplies plastic tub to drain into a bucket
Hi There,
Challenge 5K Air Conditioner
Having checked I can see this requires external ventilation so would not be suitable for your needs.
Thanks for using Q&A.
About 3c lower than the current temperature at best, too underpowered to get a room cool.
Hi Tatts
Challenge 5K Air Conditioner:
Minimum temperature 17ºC
Maximum temperature 30ºC
Thank you for using Q&A.
to be honest I am not sure but we have it on 17 and that is cold enough for our bedroom.
It is a great compact unit but is a little noisy for a bedroom which is where we need it.
