Much better battery life than Apple Watch. Only need this for running so does what I need it to. I'm a casual runner currently marathon training, mostly just want pace, heart rate and route tracked. Connects great with Runna and Strava. Other features feel a little clunky in comparison to Apple Watch.

This watch replaced a forerunner 55 which was 4 yes old when the batteries kept failing. Vivoactive 5 was difficult to link to the Garmin app as my phone couldn't read the QR code on the watch display other than that it is good, easy to operate once you get used to it. Very good battery life so far.

Wrist-based heart rate data (so you need to wear the watch snugly on your wrist during the activity).
A timed brisk walk or run of at least 15 minutes to calculate and display your VO₂ max estimate.
