Great news for Britta jug lovers
I bought this new glass version of the famous Britta water filter jug a few weeks ago having used my original for years, this one though is a real upgrade, feels fresher due to it being glass as opposed to plastic, I find it really simple to remove inner jug whereas my original would sometimes feel wedged in, all in all a real improvement on an already fantastic product

It's better than plastic
The instructions weren't too clear and the jug is a bit clunky but otherwise it's OK.

Less plastic and easy to clean
The glass jug has plastic innards and top as well as the recyclable largely plastic filter. It is longer and narrower than most jugs, so be careful not to hit against the sink when filling it or against the counter when setting it down. It is also has less capacity than most of the plastic jugs. Its advantages are that your filtered water sits in glass rather than in plastic and the jug comes completely clean quickly and easily.

Nice jugs
Bought this before Christmas to try before I bought as a present for my son & his fiancee. Pleased to get a glass jug, seems pointless using plastic if your water filtering. Easy to setup but needed to rearrange fridge shelves to get it to fit in. I did buy another as a present. My only negative is the initial cost & ongoing cost of filters otherwise would have been 5 stars.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the BRITA Glass Water Filter Jug Light Blue 2.5L: Some coarse particles or residues may come from old water pipes into tap water. Particles can reliably be filtered out by a MAXTRA PRO filter - down to a size of 0.03mm which is so small that it is invisible to the human eye.
BRITA MAXTRA PRO cartridges are designed to improve the taste and appearance of water. The MAXTRA PRO will reduce limescale, chlorine, lead and copper from the water, these reduction amounts can vary depending on the water quality in your area.
We can confirm with the MAXTRA PRO, the reduction rates for metals (including lead) are at least 90% and for chlorine 80% that conform to DIN EN 17093.
