It provides 50% better limescale reduction compared to the MAXTRA PRO PURE PERFORMANCE filter and protects your kettle and coffee maker from limescale build-up.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the BRITA MAXTRA PRO Limescale Expert Water Filter Cartridge 6Pk: ''Not all calcium and magnesium is exchanged for hydrogen by the ion exchanger as we only partially reduce hardness (temporary hardness). The granulated ion exchange resin consists of sponge-like, polymeric beads with numerous active groups on the surface. It binds a certain amount of the calcium and magnesium ions in the groundwater, also known as temporary hardness (alkalinity or carbonate hardness). BRITA filters only those quantities of calcium and magnesium ions that precipitate during the cooking process, i.e. are deposited as limescale.''

For the reduction of PFAS, activated carbon is needed. With limescale expert this claim is not possible since the amount of carbon is too little.

“ BRITA filters are not designed to reduce TDS. BRITA filters are designed to lock away taste and odour impairing substances and reduce carbonate hardness. They will also reduce metals like lead and copper that might occur in old pipes and help protect appliances from scale build up. ”
