Quick boiling and easy to clean
I brought this more than 6 months ago. It's a good kettle, easy to clean, but some people in the household, can't work the computer side of turning the kettle on.

Lovely piece of kit!
Quieter than our previous kettle and matches our kitchen perfectly

Excellent
Wife chose this a few months back. At first I thought it was another useless gadget. Then after using realized that it was saving me money by boiling to a lower temp correct when making coffee. No boiling and waiting for it to cool. No reboiling as you can see the temperature. Apart from this the kettle is fast and quiet. There's no click when the kettle is done so that's something to get used to. Only gripe is that the icon on temperature button has worn off already after only 2 months but in my opinion is a tiny problem in what is an excellent product.

Lid broke rubbish design
Bought in February didn't really use the water variable temp thing. Too many buttons. Now lid has broken the design of lid realise on two tiny millimetre pieces of plastic- totally rubbish

Great value kettle
I bought this so that I can make coffee at a lower temperature which can be set as you like. Of course it boils as well! Saves on electricity and is very easy to operate - highly recommended especially at the price. My only criticism is the location of the water level which is easily obscured when you pick it up but otherwise filling is no problem and neither is pouring. I would buy another one!

Great kettle
Works like a charm, very handy temperature setting. A lot cheaper than other kettles with the same feature.

Hudge disappointed
I bought this kettle few months ago, was looking for kettle with temperature control, and it is hudge disappointment. It haven't got an audible alert that water reached boiling point even visually is difficult to notice if water reached proper temperature. Also is easy to burn your hand if you not carefully grabbed handle. So if you want kettle friendly to use and hassle free DO NOT BUY THIS ONE

Hello Jonesc,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Russell Hobbs Buckingham Variable Temperature Kettle - 21040: ''The kettle will take around 3 to 4 minutes to boil 1.7 liters of water. Boiling less water will shorten the boiling time.''
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hello Yok.
After contacting our suppliers they have advised for Russell Hobbs Buckingham Variable Temperature Kettle - 21040:
If the appliance is not used it will go into sleep mode and as such it will only hold enough power to have the power button functional. No lights in sleep mode and does not beep when it is done boiling.
As mentioned, as the product goes to sleep mode after 5 minutes of inactivity, it is designed to be safely left plugged in.
It is down to personal choice if you want to turn it off at the wall socket or not.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi Tatina,
Having checked, you can choose a temperature range between 60°-100.
