Good
This is the second one I bought and find it’s easy to use and much better cost wise than boiling a kettle

Very economical
I bought this a month ago thinking, we might use it a few times, in fact, we use it all the time ! It is much quicker than a kettle and great when you are only making one drink rather than several. It is easy to use, easy to fill. The only downside is, it does splutter the liquid sometimes, but not enough to put you off buying it !

Brilliant!!!
Brilliant. Only needing to heat the right amount of water and not having to lift a heavy kettle full of boiling water are two big pluses for this. Love it!

Things I don't like: NONE!! - Excellent choice!
I bought this last November (27/11/25) and I have been really pleased with it. It was a replacement for my previous Breville Hot Cup Water Dispenser, which had served us well for a long time. Things I like about it: It has a large 2 litre capacity; It heats up a cupful in less than a minute; I love the smooth black and stainless steel design with a blue light that comes on when it is boiling the water + it has a dial on the top so different amounts of water can be heated depending on the size of the cup; If you need to stop it part way through there is a 'stop' button which halts the flow of water straight away; I think it looks good and is a great shape and looks good on my kitchen worktop; The drip tray is another good feature, and it is very straightforward to 'de-scale' if necessary. So, things I don't like: None! I thoroughly recommend this and would never use any other hot cup water dispenser.

Brilliant!
Love this machine It has a variable cup size button that the smaller 1.5 product doesn’t have. When start button is pressed the product illuminates, . It’s ideal for my elderly mother as she shakes & its important that she doesn’t fill her cup to full . It’s fast boiling and only boils enough water at once time to fill you cup so not wasting electricity! Brilliant product for safety and ease to use . I’m actually going to purches one for myself

Great Kettle
Great kettle, love all the features on this kettle. Sadly brought this kettle about three years ago but it started to leak and stopped working. But saying all that I was so happy with the kettle I brought the exact model again !! Highly recommend it

Nifty hot water dispenser
Heats water quickly ... the water tank lights up blue while this is happening. Dispenses one cup of hot water with the press of a button (with a choice of cup size). Ideal :)

Will never go back to a kettle!
Makes it so quick to get my cuppa! Fill up in the morning and lasts all day as only heats exactly 1 mug. Easy to change the amount if we want hot chocolate etc. Saves so much electric. Love it!

It’s ok
It’s a good water kettle one thing I don’t like is the button to open the lid is at the back so you have to keep pulling out to fill it otherwise it’s a good fast boiler

Reduced water dispensing can often be linked to limescale buildup, especially in hard water areas. Even after descaling, some deposits can remain in internal components and affect performance. Please try the following steps:
Descale thoroughly using a suitable descaling solution, following the instructions in the user manual. Repeat if necessary, as stubborn limescale may require multiple treatments. Please also check the water outlet pipe position inside the kettle to ensure it’s correctly aligned and not obstructed.
If the issue persists after these steps, we recommend contacting Breville Customer Service for further troubleshooting and to verify warranty coverage, as your kettle may require replacement.
Hi,
I fill mine from a jug as I couldnt safely carry the hotcup full of water. After a while you can guess how much water you need to put it.
Hello Dave,
The Breville VKJ318 kettle can be filled either by taking it to the tap or by using a jug to pour water in—whichever is most convenient for you. Just make sure not to exceed the maximum fill line indicated inside the kettle for safety and optimal performance.
Hi, the space under the VKJ318 nozzle is approximately 16 cm once the removable tray is taken out, so it really just depends on the size of the teapot.
Hi, this unit is designed specifically for cups, so a standard single cafetiere may not fit properly.
Hi Anng, Yes, even though the Breville VKJ318 has a limescale filter, it still needs to be descaled—ideally every 2–3 months, depending on how often you use it and your local water hardness. This helps keep it working efficiently.
Hi Kaz - Breville VKJ318 HotCup Water Dispenser comes with permanent limescale filter.
Hi, you can clean the spout using a soft cloth and a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water. You can also descale the appliance according to the manual. For more details, please visit the manufacturer's website.
You would have to push the button for each tea individually but it takes alot less time to boil than the kettle would. Still a bit of a faff to make a big round of brews but 1 or 2 is super quick.
Hi Black cat,
The Breville VKJ318 HotCup Water Dispenser has a 2-liter capacity, which is enough to make multiple cups of tea without needing to refill and reboil for each cup.
Thank you for using Q&A
Hi Sessair, the measurement from the bottom of the nozzle is 12cm but you can also get more room by removing the drip tray which is magnetic and the space is then 14cm.
Hi Chris, yes, this model has a stop button that you can press to automatically stop the flow if necessary.
