About this product
One Coat Shed & Fence can be used on all above ground timber such as fencing, sheds and trelliswork. It has been specially formulated with added wax for increased protection and it provides excellent resistance to extreme weather conditions. It protects wood from the damaging effects of the suns ultra violet rays, and provides long lasting colour that is guaranteed to be fade resistant for 3 years. Product Features: Quick Dry. Covers approx. 54m. Touch dry: 2 hours.

Great stain at a very affordable price.
I’ve tried several shed and fence paints/stains over the years and Johnstone’s is the one I always come back to, particularly at such a bargain price. None of them quite provide the one coat coverage they profess to provide, but this is as good as any, and the look after a few coats is superb, even where the wood has been previously painted or stained with similarly dark colours. The photos show how this turns out: the fence was originally a very vivid Red Cedar prior to this, so needs a final coat, but the planter is how it ends up when done or getting there.

Poor adhesion
Despite three coats of paint on variousgarden items and fence areas, we found the paint to be extremely patchy to the extend it appeared as a marble effect with white streaks shoeing through. Paint was shaken and well stirred and new brushes used so was definitely the paint.

This isn't specific spraying paint, you would need to dilute it, but this will change the chemistry.

The supplier has advised the following for the Johnstones One Coat Shed and Fence - Shaded Grey, 9L:
"As a rule of thumb, when stored correctly water-based paints should be fine to store for around 2 years.
The issue we have with giving a solid time frame is that there are so many varying conditions that can contribute to a paints shelf life.
Frost can effectively freeze the paint. Hot weather can cause the paint to separate out and go solid in the tin.
The most common storage places for paints are garden sheds and garages. Both areas are rarely insulated and get cold in winter and hot in summer."

It does state the Johnstones One Coat Shed and Fence - Shaded Grey, 9L, is a grey paint. However it does have wax in it to protect the wood.
