About this product

Centaurea scabiosa (Great Knapweed) is a native British perennial that produces thistle-like purple flower heads from July to September. It thrives in poor, dry, well-drained soils, attracts bees and other pollinators, and will self-seed to naturalise in borders. Sow indoors in trays of pre-watered seed compost, cover lightly and keep at 15-20°C; allow about two weeks for germination. Transplant into 8cm pots when large enough, acclimatise before planting out after frost, and space plants roughly 25cm apart.
