About this product
Transform hard floors with this black shaggy rug that delivers softness and comfort when you walk across it. The long pile creates a plush surface, and the solid black design fits in with any colour scheme or decorating style. It works well in living rooms, bedrooms or hallways where you want underfoot cushioning. The dark shade conceals marks and scuffs between vacuuming sessions, keeping maintenance simple and practical.
The rug weighs 2.12kg, so it feels substantial without being awkward to shift when you're cleaning around it. You can spot clean marks and spills as they happen to keep it looking tidy. Regular hoovering removes dust and keeps the pile feeling fresh. We also offer rug grips sold separately to help keep rugs positioned on hard floors.

Great rug, great colour!
I have had this for a few days. It has completely transformed my living space with the bright colour. The room was pretty drab before. Good quality thick rug, very soft underfoot. A good size - goes between my sofas perfectly.

Great rug, would buy again
It's so soft, perfect size, doesn't get overly dirty, easy to clean and feels so nice underfoot. Nice and thick and looks more expensive than it is!

Challenging to pick up debris off it.
Good size rug, it is in my living room. It can be difficult to pick up stuff using a shark cleaner.

Colour not black!
Not really impressed with this rug. I ordered the black and it looks more like a dark navy. The pile is OK but not very thick. I guess you get what you paid for. Will be returning for a refund.

Great value
Bought two of these for areas of wooden flooring where my dogs keep slipping . Perfect for the job . Not the thickest but the grip is pretty good and they are soft . Good value . Washing is not recommended but I will test that when the time comes .

Hello Cath.
Habitat Cosy Ivory Shaggy Rug - 200x290cm
It is a shaggy rug, so general shag rug care still applies — they can be more delicate, and some vacuums struggle depending on pile height and suction strength. Expert guidance recommends avoiding upright vacuums with aggressive brush rolls on shag rugs because they can tug on long fibres.
If your vacuum allows, using a brush‑off mode, adjustable suction, or a hose with an upholstery/brush attachment usually gives better results on shaggy piles.
Thank you for using Q & A.
