Speedy Teasmade
My old one broke down and this one boils a lot quicker than the old one did.

No good
Difficult to get the teapot in the correct place so it would work, managed for a week then it stopped working completely. I got it for convenience as I've had surgery and can't walk but sadly had to return it

Great design and works perfectly.
After returning the first one faulty it was immediately replaced by a replacement which works perfectly. I have always had a teasmade the original being a Goblin which then changed to a Swan brand. The last replacements have all been Swan brand. This latest is lovely both in design and efficiency in the way it works. I am very happy with my purchase and was surprised at the very reasonable price.

Good tea
Purchased 6 months or more ago. Still going strong, as it should. Makes a good cup of tea. We have had a similar model for years as we like our morning cuppa.

Good and effective
This is a good replacement for a very old teasmade. It is quick andeffective. Slight negative is that it is tricky to position the pot to engage with the button which makes it all work.

On going Fault
This machine failed to work. Once set, the light went out at theset time but no water heated up and therefor no tea was made. This was a fault that had to be repaired after a year on a previous model.

Don't buy this!
I am just about to return my second one of these. Both have worked fine for the making tea on demand, but the alarm clock and make tea function doesn't work! The light is too bright, even at its lowest setting it illuminated the bedroom like Blackpool Illumiations. I have given up on this model, and replaced it with the newer model with thte LCD screen, which so far is working fine.

Disappointment
After purchasing this item, it worked successfully for four days and then the water heating function failed completely. I initially wanted a replacement, but there were no Argos stores within about 30 miles that had any stock. Therefore I requested a refund which was easy to do. Subsequently I have looked at product reviews on other retailers’ websites and find that this brand of teasmade has a history of unreliability. Argos should not stock this.

Hi Mr Tea,
No, you can't set the Swan STM201 Vintage Teasmade to make tea without setting the alarm It's equipped it with a TEA NOW button If you want the TEASMADE to make tea without setting the alarm.
Thank you for contacting Q&A
The short answer is no. This and an over bright clock dial light are its main faults. I’ve disconnected the buzzer and covered the LED bulb. But it has been making tea every morning for the past couple of years……
I would not relate to putting milk into the teasmade unit at all as this could be problematic in the longer term to the unit. Milk should either be served in a separate receptacle or if making instant coffee add the milk to the cup with the coffee powder in.
Hi Sarah
Yes you will need to add the milk separately as you would when making tea normally.
I hope this helps
