great slushie machine for entertaining &summer fun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of, once again a super kool Ninja appliance especially with summer coming up :) It's taken me a bit of time to make this review as we wanted to find the best place for it before using it properly. So keep in mind, it is pretty big and heavy. It can feel a bit overwhelming size wise at first so I would recommend this for people with ample kitchen counter space or wherever it's going to be used. Also it really is for people who are going to enjoy this regularly due to it's size and capacity/volume. And it is on the pricier side. The slush assist mode is so helpful as it pretty much does the work for you. It really is fast and makes a great slushie. But you still need to get used to your proportions and recipes. It is a matter of experimenting and figuring out which methods work best for what you are wanting to make. As far as taste it of course depends on what ingredients and proportions you put in as that really determines the taste. If you are familiar with slushie machines or have used the previous model(s) then it's going to be even easier. But if it's your first time just make sure you read the instructions properly so you don't end up getting the proportions wrong or wasting time and ingredients. It's not a blender or a juicer so there is a bit of "science" lol. I was a bit confused by the sugar free recipes as when I initially researched this new model and asked about it, I thought that you could just make diet soda slushies/sugar free milkshakes and sugar free coffee drinks for some reason. But it turns out you need to use a sweetener alternative when making those. I found out about erythritol and it does work well but I need to figure out about how other alternatives like Stevia could be used. Ninja recommends erythritol and it is apparently keto friendly which is good. When I put for example diet soda straight out of the plastic bottle the consistency doesn't seem to work as it's too icy but when erythritol is added it goes to the right slushie consistency and doesn't really seem to double the sweetener taste. This is something to consider for people with dietary requirements especially concerning sugar. You can't for example just make a water slushie and then add lemon or something coz the consistency wouldn't be right. Apparently allulose or monk fruit can also be used as a sugar alternative but I think erythritol is easier to get here in the UK. For normal slushies it's super straight forwards as long as you look at the ingredients and nutrition info on whatever you are putting in of course. The noise is okay when on. Especially if it's going to be for a function or party etc. I always get a little concerned regarding how easy kitchen appliances are to take apart and clean after use but this one is actually pretty straight forward. It does have the rinse mode built in but it still does need to be properly cleaned after every use. I do think it is an upgrade from the previous model and looks much more stylish and futuristic. Maybe be mindful that it's not something you are going to want to move around due to it's size and weight so unless you have ample storage space or a different area for entertaining, it's really going to have to sit somewhere where it can stay as a permanent resident and hopefully that will encourage everyone to use it more. I think it is great when it is part of an event like a party or entertaining. It is fun too :) Just looking forward to actual sunny warm weather so these drinks can be a regular! :)๐ธ๐๐ผ

A GREAT treat maker when the weather is right
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Note - Product Received Free for Review. The Ninja SLUSHi MAX Frozen Drink Maker is a great piece of kit. I'll say this now so I don't need to later. It's an easy to set up, easy to use machine. It is also quite quiet (especially compared to our Ninja Blender which you can hear from outside the house!). We first tested the Ninja SLUSHi MAX Frozen Drink Maker by making a family favourite, Mango Lassi. Now you have to mix everything by hand beforehand, the machine will not do this for you, but the results were great. A nice, thick, COLD drink that came together in around 15 minutes. The kids had great fun serving themselves, the machine is well made and was able to put up with the kids pulling the handle and serving themselves (the lions share of the drink!). Overall we ended up with 5 good portions from the mix. Clean up is relatively simple as well. It comes apart fairly easily, but doesn't feel flimsy. It went so well we did another batch, and we're planning Milkshakes for the weekend as long as the weather holds. Lets do some Pro's and Con's The Pro's Yield - This will serve up a good amount (we ended up with 5 good portions) Noise - The machine is quite quiet for something so large. Clean Up - Quick and simple. If you follow the instructions you'll have no issues! Appearance - This is a nice, clean and aesthetically pleasing looking piece of kit. Ease of Use - Follow the instructions and you'll be golden. A child could do it (and they did!) So...why the 4 stars? Well... The Cons This thing is HUGE. Where-ever you decide to put this thing, it's its home now. It'll take up the entire space. You also need to make sure it has enough headroom as you'll need to be able to access the release handle to take the machine apart to clean. It's Heavy...seriously, Lift with you're knees when moving the box it comes in or you'll put your back out! Seasonal. This is a seasonal use item, as I do not see us as a family using it all year round. Unless you're someone who craves ice cold milkshakes, slushies and other beverages, it'll only get used for a few weeks out of the year, which can make it a hard sell for the amount of space it requires. So....Would I have bought this if it wasn't sent to me for review. In all honesty, no. Not because the machine isn't great (it is!), but because it's not something I would use day to day and as such, would have a hard time justifying the expense or its presence in my already rather populated kitchen environment. Overall, the Ninja SLUSHi MAX Frozen Drink Maker is a great piece of kit, if you have the space to house it and an addiction to slushies, milkshakes or any other kind of frozen drink!

Quick, simple to use and amazing Slushi's
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to receive the Ninja Slushi MAX frozen drink maker as a product test and I can honestly say it did not disappoint. First impressions taking it out of the box, was what a lovely looking sturdy piece of equipment, although i must say it was larger than I anticipated. The instruction manual is clear and concise and also has some lovely recipes within it. It was a lovely warm day when we received it so we decided to try it out straight away making some lovely tropical Slushi's. We used the Slushi Assist which worked out beautifully and perfect consistency, after which we made the kids a Cola Slushi, we turned the dial slightly to make it a thicker consistency and they thoroughly enjoyed them. One of the good points is that you can make enough for 4 or 12 people depending on who you are catering for. Once we had finished we began the cleaning processes, the rinse mode is wonderful, and the whole cleaning process is so easy and took less than 10 minutes whilst being very well detailed in the instruction manual. Overall I would definitely recommend this product, for families and those who like to host parties, This is definitely something that we will use all year, summer BBQs and winter family gathering, it will definitely make days with the family even more enjoyable.

Yes, the SLUSHiMax can use slush mix concentrates if they are properly diluted with water. Do not use undiluted concentrate; the final mixture should be pourable like juice or soda to freeze correctly.
