About this product
Keep light out and sleep in with this blackout roller blind that gives you complete darkness whenever needed. The crisp white fabric blocks 100% of light from streetlamps, cars and early sun, so you can rest undisturbed whether napping or sleeping in. It fits inside or outside your window recess and includes all fixtures for quick installation. The mechanism fits either side, working in any room layout. To ensure child safety and comply with regulations, always fit P clips or cleats to keep cords and chains secure and out of reach.
The blind arrives ready to install and can be trimmed down to size if you need a smaller fit, so you're not stuck if your measurements aren't exact. The chain mechanism is made from durable, smooth-operating plastic that works reliably, and the weighted plastic bottom rail keeps the fabric hanging neatly in place. It's tested and safe to the 2014 blind safety standards BS EN 13120, which gives you peace of mind. Any creases from packaging will drop out after 48 hours, and keeping it fresh is simple with a quick wipe clean when needed.

Easy to trim using a hacksaw and scissors. Instructions were a bit confusing but Installation was simple and quick. The blind is definitely blackout. Mechanism also seems safe and durable. Good value for money, will likely buy another for my lounge.

I've had this a while now. The way it has to be fitted it lets the light through. It's quite thin and is very difficult to open. Because I had to cut it to fit it has frayed at the sides.

The Argos Home Blackout Black Roller Blind - 60cm (708/4971) can be significantly trimmed in width to fit smaller windows, often up to 10–14 cm or more in total, as long as the fabric does not catch on the mechanism. The aluminum roller tube and fabric can be cut using a hacksaw and sharp scissors.

I can advise the following regarding the Argos Home Blackout Sage Green Roller Blind - 90cm.
The width measurement includes both the fabric width and the brackets.
The allowance for the brackets is 3cm in total and the blind requires 19mm fittings.
For the actual width of the blind, please subtract 3cm.
The item is supplied with 4 standard 30mm screws.
