A great wee speaker and alarm clock
I bought this Echo a few weeks ago and have found it to work very well as both a smart speaker and an alarm clock. I like the way that the time darkens to suit the room darkness. My only complaint is that Alexa sometimes does not understand my strong accent! LOL

The Echo Spot features a Night Mode that changes the background to black and dims the screen to reduce glare and eye strain, especially at night. To enable Night Mode, go to Echo Settings > Home & Clock > Night Time Clock > Turn On & Set Schedule Time to dim the clock. Alternatively, you can say “Alexa, turn off display” to turn off the display completely until you call Alexa again.
