Its a portable Radiator, what can go wrong, right?
Welcome to my review of the Dreo 2kW Oil Filled Radiator. Let's start with the unpacking shall we. This is a straightforward process as the only task you have to do (besides removing the radiator from the box) is the fold out the wheels which leads me to my first minor concern. There's no locking latch for the wheels. So it's possible that you could knock the wheels while say lifting the unit causing the wheel to fold back which when you put the unit back down, would then topple over. Another way could be an obstruction on the floor like a thick rug or a small step which when pulling the unit along could snag on this and again, cause the wheels to fold back. Now this is unlikely to happen but not impossible and at 10kg, will definitely do harm to your foot, leg, pet, floor, or the unit itself (manual states to only operate in upright or risk damage). The wheels themselves are adequate for the job and with the aid of the single handle at the back of the unit, can be moved around with minimum effort (more effort required on carpet). This brings me to my 2nd minor concern, the single handle. I feel that it could do with 2nd handle at the front of the unit to help balance the weight while lifting. The single handle is definitely sturdy enough to support the weight but at 10kg, it feels like it wants to swing and would be more manageable with 2 handles. But as I said, it's a minor issue which definitely would not affect everybody. Especially if you live on one floor or have a single specific place you want to use it. However, I believe they left out the front handle as to not ruin the aesthetics, which aren't bad, well, as far as radiators are concerned. The front has a black smooth glossy plastic panel that runs the full height of the unit which has 5 symbols on it representing buttons which are touch sensitive. Once plugged in, a plug symbol comes on letting you know the unit is in standby. Once the unit is switched on either by the button on the front panel or by the remote, a bright clear display illuminates just above the symbols showing all the relevant info, power heat mode and temperature being the largest info shown and is visible at distance. There's also a vertical led strip which illuminates showing the ambient temperature. This is indicated by 4 colours from yellow being the coldest to light orange, dark orange and finally red being the hottest. This function can be turned off. The display itself can also detect light conditions. If it's in low light conditions say a dark room, the display and ambient light (if switched on) automatically dims and then switches off if there's no input after 10 seconds. But if you was to switch the lights back on, then the display and ambient light also comes back on. Other features include a off timer working on 1hour increments (1-24hours), a child lock and a mute button which mutes the beep sound made every time you make an input. As mentioned, it comes with a remote which is quite a smart looking little device which doesn't match the aesthetics of the radiator at all. You would never believe the two items are related. It's a shame the radiator doesn't look more like the remote but this leads me to believe that there's probably another colour variant and chose to do just one remote for both models. However, this is hardly a deal breaker. The remote works well (I was using at over 10metres) and is a nice size. It would have been nice though if there was somewhere on the unit itself to store the remote when not in use. There's 2 heating modes, Power and Eco. In Power mode there's 3 settings, H1, H2, and H3 being the hottest. In this mode the power is constant. In Eco mode you set the temperature yourself, 5 c (41f)-35 c (95f). Once the temperature is met, the heating switches off and only comes back on to maintain the desired temp. The unit reaches maximum temperature quickly but like a typical radiator, it works on convection so if you're directly in front of it, you will feel the heat while the majority of the heat will be directly above the unit. Thus the room takes a little while to heat up. Also like a typical radiator, it makes hardly any noise while heating. While I was testing the radiator in Power mode, I was monitoring my smart meter (Scottish Power) to work out the cost of running. H1 the lowest setting is 21pence an hour. H2 was 31ph and H3 being the hottest was 52ph.These figures are approximate as there's many factors that can alter the figures such as different power providers and the accuracy of the smart meter. Here's some basic specs (approximates) Height (floor to top of unit) 65.5cm Width 14.5cm Depth (front of unit to handle at the back) 45cm Width at base (wheels folded out) 25.5cm Power cord length 1.8metres Weight 10.2kg Pros: Heats up quickly Easy to read display Good features Easy to use Cons: Wheels not lockable Single handle Conclusion, a functional and easy to use unit which does it's job well and only falls shy of maximum marks because of a couple minor points. Thanks for reading.

Great Heater
It’s been a while since I’ve bought a new oil filled heater, I’m impressed with the sleek finish and extras on this one. It looks stylish and has smooth lines, I like the handle on the end which makes it really easy to move on the wheels. The control panel looks great, large easy to read visuals and easy to use. I was able to get the heater up and running quickly without the instruction book. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and in reading the book I discovered a lot if extra features the timer s d eco options are particularly appealing. I like the ambient temperature option too. One heater gets to full heat quickly- very impressed!

Doesn't tip over, has a remote, oh and heats rooms
Straight out of the box I liked the foldout wheels that make the radiator safe from tipping over and easy to move around. I use it in the living room which is an average size and heats the room fine. The settings are easy enough to understand and the remote control is a welcome bonus. Definitely open the windows for the first use as the smell is quite strong. Electric cost to use seems reasonable.
