About this product
The Winchester Shelving Unit provides open storage and drawers to keep your living room organised. Part of the Winchester collection, it features a cream and oak-effect finish that suits relaxed interiors and natural tones. Its sturdy design holds books, decorative items, and essentials at easy-to-reach heights. Two drawers with metal runners keep smaller items tucked away but accessible, while six shelves provide visible storage. Four shelves adjust to fit taller items or group things as you like. The thick profiled top with softly rounded edges adds a laid-back feel.
The fixed shelves provide stable base storage, while the adjustable ones move to accommodate different item heights. Metal drawer runners glide smoothly when opening and closing, even with regular use. Each shelf holds up to 5kg, enough for books, frames or folded textiles without sagging. Wall-mounting is recommended for additional stability in homes with children or pets. Arrives flat-packed with clear instructions, two people recommended for assembly. Quite a challenging build!
I finished 'building' this today...I have built a fair amount of flat pack furniture, and this was somewhat of a challenge! There are a lot of component parts, they fitted together pretty well but to do it properly you really need a helper! Also, there are some mistakes in the instructions, especially the direction of the drawer runners! Once together it is pretty solid, and heavy! Once completed the drawers are slightly 'wonky', and I noticed some peeling veneer. To be fair to Argos I contacted them straight away and a resolution was agreed upon.

Lovely and flexible storage.
This looks great in the dining room. It took two of us several hours to put together but wasn't difficult to follow the instructions step-by-step. The shelving is variable so it can be made to hold tall things and/or paperback books or short things. The top is lovely. Very pleased.

Arrived and packaging was badly damaged told it would be ok as item wrapped up inside, it was not but luckily damaged bits were to the back. Overall it was over priced for what it is more like £80 but lovely colour and fits the space well

I bought this to go in my spare room, it came as a flatpack which took a bit of time to build, but once it was it’s very sturdy and looks great. I would not hesitate in buying this again.
