The hood delivers a maximum extraction rate of 200 meters per hour per hour and runs at 64dB, so it clears the air without being too intrusive. A single LED light brightens your hob area, while the washable grease filter cassette keeps maintenance simple - just pop it out and clean it when needed. It's designed to fit a standard 60cm width, with compact proportions that suit most kitchen layouts, and comes with 1 grease filter cassette included. Checking all other cooker extractor units, this “Argos” one seemed the one, only thing is that if you use it “without venting through an external tube”, it doesn't come with a “carbon filter”, so you need to buy one separately. Otherwise very happy with extraction efficiency. Would recommend.

Bought to replace my old Creda hood which I had for about 20 years or so. The light on this is much better as it's an LED module and my old one took bulbs that blew every so often. Haven't used it yet as landlord has recently replaced kitchen. Looks good though.

I had difficulty mounting into a hollow wall with the regular wall plugs but I found heavy duty hollow wall plugs at B&Q and this resolved the issue. I also found that the power cable was very short but I ordered a standard socket from Amazon and changed my fused spur to that instead. You could also cut the socket and re-wire into the fused spur but it’s not recommended. Also the carbon filter I bought from eBay didn’t fit the mould but I used electrical tape to hold it over it and this kind of makes it work until I order a new one which will hopefully fit next time. Apart from that it’s great and seems to be working ok so far just expect some ball aches with the installation especially if it’s your first time installing it.

Yes there is a vent hole on top of the hood so it can be extracted through a cupboard.
Alternatively, it can also be installed to recirculate so it does not need an extraction point.
