If you know how to cook rice then this is all you really need. Works just fine for basmati and brown rice. Could do with an appropriate steamer basket but overall a good value rice cooker.

Disappointing there was no recipes on following instructions for plain rice it it caught on the bottom and I needed to stop it sooner than the recommend time hasn’t got a timer .

''Rice cooking tips
* Rice is a natural product and the results will vary depending on

* Follow the ratio of rice:water advised on the rice packaging.
* For fluffier rice, add a little extra water and for firmer rice add a
little less.
* This rice cooker is best suited to cooking white rice. If using rice
varieties with longer cooking times (e.g. brown rice) add extra
water at the start to prolong the cooking time.
* Some rice may benefit from stirring towards the end of their
cooking time to prevent burning.''
