The Argos Home Toby Velvet Recliner Sofa gives you a comfortable place to unwind at the end of the day. It seats three people and has two manual reclining seats that work independently, so you can sit upright while someone else goes feet up. The soft velvet fabric feels plush against your skin, while foam-filled fibre-wrap cushions give you comfortable support. Just pull the handle to recline and stretch out during a film or an evening catch-up.
The velvet upholstery adds a touch of colour to your living room. Soft seat cushions hold their shape through regular use, and removable cushions with fibre filling let you adjust comfort levels. This sofa in a box was the perfect answer to a narrow access problem . The 2 delivery men were very helpful and brought it into the room where I wanted it. My son assembled it for me. The quality is much better than I expected for the price.

The Toby Velvet 3 Seater Recliner Sofa in a Box - Navy when reclined, the depth of the sofa increases from 93 cm to 157 cm, which means the back of the seat does move backward as part of the reclining motion.
So yes, it does require extra space behind the sofa to fully recline.
