The Toby 3 Seater Recliner Sofa puts comfortable, flexible seating in your living room. Two independent reclining seats let you and a guest find your own position, whether sitting upright for a chat or pulling the manual handle to lean right back. The foam and fibre filled cushions provide support for movie nights or weekend lounging. A soft velvet finish gives it a plush feel that's gentle to touch. There's room for three people to sit comfortably.
The manual reclining mechanism works with a simple pull of the handle on each seat. Removable cushions with fibre filling make refreshing or cleaning straightforward. Fixed seats maintain their shape through regular use. The velvet fabric has a soft texture that suits relaxed evenings. Part of the Toby collection, you can co-ordinate with matching pieces. Self-assembly required. Covered by a 2 year manufacturer's guarantee.

The Toby Velvet 3 Seater Recliner Sofa in a Box - Navy when reclined, the depth of the sofa increases from 93 cm to 157 cm, which means the back of the seat does move backward as part of the reclining motion.
So yes, it does require extra space behind the sofa to fully recline.
