About this product
The Argos Home Maine Bookcase gives you practical storage for books, display pieces, and everyday items in a slim, upright design. It's a straightforward tall unit that fits neatly against walls without eating into floor space. The wood effect finish with PVC coating protects against marks and wipes clean after dusting. Five shelves in total provide flexible storage, one fixed shelf gives structural strength, and four adjustable shelves let you space things to suit what you're storing. The black finish works with most room schemes and keeps things neutral.
The slim depth maximises space in compact rooms or narrow alcoves where deeper bookcases won't fit. Adjustable shelves move to accommodate taller books or smaller paperbacks, decorative items, or storage baskets. Wall-mounting fixings included for stability, especially important in homes with children. Self-assembly required, instructions and all fixings provided, two people recommended for easier handling. Prefect for our requirements
These are perfect for paperbacked books, which is what we needed them for. They are flat packed so you get what you pay for, and the panel pins for the back panels are tricky, a couple went through and marked the shelves internally. But with books on you can’t see it. They meet the requirements we needed them for so happy overall

A bookcase that looks more expensive than it is.
Once assembled, this looks lovely, and the oak effect is an added bonus. Definitely worth the price and one of the best bookcases out there. However, you will need to assemble this yourself so ensure you have a set of screwdrivers at the ready.

Great looking sturdy white bookcase
Great price, plus was able to use vouchers and Nectar points. Arrived on time. Box was very heavy which only goes to show how sturdy the fabric of this bookcase is. Quick and easy to assemble, very clear instructions. Love the fact that the shelves are adjustable to heights that suit. Replaced very old bulkier Argos bookcases that were looking tired and had fixed shelves. This new one is slimmer with a nice clean finish. Very happy. Would recommend.

Steadiness
Just needed a shelving unit to fit into one of my living room alcoves. And this has done the job I was wanting. Colour is lovely - matches with my other units in living room. I've not put everything on the shelves yet, but rate it for it's steadiness and size.

I brouhht this several momths ago although it is a bookcase it is so versatile im using it for dvds it keeps them so neat and tidy it is very stable didnt need to attach it to the wall
