About this product
The Argos Home Maine Bookcase provides a simple place to organise books, display favourites, or control clutter. Its tall, narrow design fits tight corners or hallways without dominating the room. The walnut wood effect finish adds warmth and matches most furniture styles. Five shelves provide ample space; one fixed for strength, four adjustable to fit taller items or stack as needed. Its slim depth keeps it compact, ideal for limited floor space.
The wood effect surface wipes clean after dust builds up. Wall fixings are included, so you can secure it safely in homes with children or pets. It's a sensible height for reaching everyday items without stretching or using a step. The neutral walnut tone suits traditional and modern rooms equally well. Simple assembly required with clear instructions, two people recommended for easier handling. Part of the Maine collection, so you can match it with other storage pieces if your needs grow.

Customers Say
Easy to assemble, sturdy, and good value bookcase with adjustable shelves and a nice finish. Some issues with back panels and minor quality concerns but overall recommended for affordable, functional storage.

Looks great and a lovely colour
I bought this 2 weeks ago review as follows: well packaged and arrived on time, all contents accounted for and good quality materials. Very pleased with the assembled bookcase and shelves easily adjusted to the size I needed. I needed a narrow bookcase (20 cms) for a smaller room and all paperbacks and DVD's easily fitted. The advice I would give about assembly, however is not to try and use two rows of nails on the middle line of the backing (likely to split through to the other side. I used glue and duct tape after making this mistake.

Good product, good value.
Great service, arrived as promised. Easy to assemble, with better instructions than a lot of flat-pack furniture. More robust than I thought it would be, so good value.

Perfect bookcase
I’ve been looking for a shallow bookcase like this for a long time. Perfect for my needs with plenty of shelf space with adjustable heights. Easy to assemble and stable when in place. Simple and Matt finish that fit with my decor.

THIS WAS ASSEMBLED BY MY NEIGHBOUR AS I HAVE ARTHRITIC WRISTS. THERE WAS NO BOTHER AND IT LOOKS LOVELY AND HOLDS ALL MY DVDs

Not great
Shelves not very deep. Awful back panels stuck together with brown tape and chips easily. Should’ve bought the solid wood charity shop one.

Spend a little more and get something better
But a cheap bookcase - you get a cheap bookcase - and that's what I got. Not great - looks cheap, feels cheap. will do the job for a short time and then will need to be replaces. The photo is photoshopped as you see all the holes down the side on the inside - and if you are not super careful with the mallet/ hammer the nails smash the board on the other side. also - terrible directions on the build.
