About this product
The AEG OSC5S181ES Integrated Fridge Freezer fits into your fitted kitchen and keeps food sorted. It has a bottom-freezer design with ample fridge space above and a freezer below, suitable for most households. Cold Sense tech uses sensors to quickly restore temperature after door openings, keeping food fresh. The Low Frost system reduces defrosting, and adjustable humidity vents on salad crispers let you control conditions for your vegetables. LED indicators display internal temperature for easy adjustment.
There's 4 adjustable safety glass shelves in the fridge, 2 salad crisper compartments, a dairy compartment, and an egg tray. The freezer has a Fast Freeze function for when you're batch-cooking or loading up with fresh shopping, and 1 storage compartment down below. It runs at about 34dB, which is fairly quiet for a fridge freezer, and the energy rating is E. There's an open door alert and a high temperature warning, so you'll know if something's gone wrong. The door is reversible if that makes installation easier, and it comes with a 2-year parts and labour guarantee.
The Cold Sense Fridge Freezer rapidly returns to the correct temperature after door opening and closing, thanks to precise electronic sensors. This helps prevent temperature shocks and food spoilage for total food protection.

A very good all round product
Great product fulfilling all our needs and it runs very quietly

Nice product but
Nice looking product but functionally lacking. It frosts up regularly on the inside all down the back, leading to soggy food.

Poor quality
This a replacement fridge freezer and chose it because of the slightly larger and better freezer configeration. Its been a disaster since fitting. It is not possible to regulate the tempature on the freezer and whilst it is supposed to be set at -18° it is clearly colder as ice cream is solid and there is a thick frost on the drawer fronts. We set fridge at 4° but we experienced constant ice on the back wall and carrots frozen. We increased temperature to 7° but little improvement. We switched it off for a couple of hours with a little improvement. The drawers and door shelves are flimsy. We paid dearly for the FF and a lot more to have it fitted and we fear it will have to be taken out! We head on holiday today but if no improvement on our return we will be in touch as feel the thermostat is faulty

Just the job
Very pleased with my purchase so far. Good space. Quiet. Great value.

Flimsy plastic boxes, poor temperature keeping.
The veg boxes broke in the first 6 months as they are made from thin plastic. This fridge is always too cold and is the worst fridge freezer I have ever owned.

Great fridge freezer
Really enjoying this fridge freezer. It replaced another brand of the same dimensions but this one has a remarkably more spacious freezer section without sacrificing fridge space which I am so surprised about.

Love the fridge freezer, but…
I brought this integrated fridge freezer for inclusion in my new kitchen renovation…Love the fridge freezer, good freezer space, but the fridge is icing up at the back really badly!! The ice buildup is so bad, that it’s causing items that are near the area to be wet and the shelf too…Only installed 3 weeks ago - not happy!!

Chilled and quiet
Great chilling, everything supercold , silent and went into the old cabinet without a fuss. It's 70/30 ratio and replaced an old 50/50 unit, tip1 is remember to check your old door sizes, tip2 watch one of the youtube videos for good tips before starting.

Impressive.
Good quality and easy to operate and satisfy all our needs.

Great design
Really happy with this fridge/freezer. We went from two fridges down to one in the new kitchen design so I was a tad apprehensive that this wasn’t big enough for our needs. I was pleasantly surprised with the capacity of the fridge and the number of shelves available for storage. The freezer suits our needs but if you are a big freezer family then a separate standalone freezer might be useful. All in all a good addition to our kitchen.

This OSC5S181ES Integrated fridge freezer must be installed by a qualified installer. The mains cable must stay below the level of the mains plug, therefore the wall socket should be higher than the cable.

AEG OSC5S181ES (Integrated Fridge Freezer)
This model is a built-in fridge freezer with the following overall appliance dimensions:
Height: 1772 mm
Width: 546 mm
Depth: 549 mm
The door is reversible and designed for sliding installation into a cabinet. While the exact door panel dimensions aren't listed separately, for integrated models like this, the door size typically matches the appliance height and width, minus a small clearance for hinges and ventilation. So, the door panel size would be approximately:
Fridge door panel: ~1025 mm high
Freezer door panel: ~715 mm high
These are standard split sizes for a 70/30 fridge/freezer configuration.
AEG OSC518ES
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find specific dimensions for the door of this model. It’s possible that the model number might be slightly off or less commonly listed online. Could you double-check the model number or let me know if it's a fridge, oven, or another appliance type? That would help narrow it down.
To adjust the freezer temperature on your AEG OSC5S181ES, follow these steps:
Locate the Control Panel: The control panel is typically inside the fridge compartment, near the top.
Temperature Adjustment: Use the temperature regulator to set your desired temperature. The LED display will show the current setting.
Fast Freeze Option: If you want to use the fast freeze option, press the Frostmatic button. This function is designed to quickly freeze fresh food and protect items already stored
Ice build-up on the back wall of your fridge can be caused by several factors:
Faulty Door Seals: If the door seals are not working properly, warm air can enter the fridge, causing condensation and ice formation.
High Humidity: Excessive humidity can lead to ice build-up, especially if the fridge door is frequently opened.
Blocked Air Vents: Poor air circulation due to blocked vents can create cold spots where ice forms.
Defrost System Issues: A malfunctioning defrost heater or a clogged defrost drain can cause ice to accumulate.
Incorrect Temperature Settings: If the thermostat is set too low, it can cause the fridge to overcool and form ice.
To address the ice build-up:
Check and Clean Door Seals: Ensure the door seals are intact and clean. Replace them if they are damaged.
Adjust Temperature Settings: Set the fridge temperature to around 37°F (3°C) and the freezer to 0°F (-18°C).
Defrost the Fridge: Unplug the fridge and let the ice melt naturally. You can speed up the process by placing a bowl of hot water inside the fridge.
Clear the Defrost Drain: Make sure the defrost drain is not clogged. You can use a pipe cleaner or a small brush to clear any blockages.
Avoid using sharp objects to scrape off the ice, as this can damage the fridge. If the problem persists, it might be best to contact a professional technician for further assistance.
Hello there,
The supplier has advised the following for the AEG OSC5S181ES Integrated Fridge Freezer - White:
"This appliance is a sliding hinge fixing."
Thank you for using Q&A.
Our installers won't change hinges on cabinets or reverse doors.
Yes, to defrost the freezer part of your AEG OSC5S181ES fridge/freezer, you will need to turn off the entire appliance since it has a single power plug. Here are the steps to defrost your freezer:
Turn off the appliance: Unplug the fridge/freezer from the power outlet.
Remove all food items: Take out all the food from the freezer and store them in a cool place or an insulated cooler.
Leave the freezer door open: This will allow the ice to melt naturally. You can place towels around the base to absorb any water.
Speed up the process: You can place bowls of hot water inside the freezer to help melt the ice faster.
Clean and dry: Once all the ice has melted, clean the interior with a mild detergent and dry it thoroughly.
Turn the appliance back on: Plug the fridge/freezer back in and allow it to reach the desired temperature before placing the food back inside.
The wet wall is part of normal functioning. The degree of air humidity and the amount and temperature of fresh food can influence the degree of condensation inside the fridge. During the cooling process, the humidity/moisture starts to condense on the back wall as this is one of the coldest places in the fridge. These droplets can be frozen, and ice can build up on the back wall.
If you are still experiencing an issue:
Check your thermostat has not been set too high, reduce the temperature within the fridge it may have been set too high by accident which can lead to frost build-up.
Is the door being open for too long or opened too often? Ice can be formed because moist air is drawn into the appliance.
Is the door closed properly after use? Check the condition of the gasket on the door. If you find it is damaged, deformed or broken, call for a service visit.
Is anything stuck in the door or prevent it from closing properly?
Hot food or too much fresh food is placed in the fridge before cooling. Try to avoid placing warm or hot food straight into the fridge as this can change the inside temperature and lead to ice within the fridge. Alternatively, if you have recently done a large shop we would recommend using a Coolmatic or similar function to cool the food quicker.
Is the seal on the door of the appliance clean? Make sure the seal is clean and free of dirt.
