Paper lantern rebiew
I’ve been using paper shades for 30 years and these shades are the right size and the right price for the product. The light is diffused and gives a natural feel to the room. The paper is eco friendly when having to renew and dispose. Not happy that they have been made out of thinner paper as it’s too thin as they are fiddly to fit and tear easily.

I needed these quickly so bought at Argos locally. They were only £4 for two but not strong. The metal supports that go inside the globe are very thin and the bits that go round the pendant flex broke off. I will buy more expensive ones in future.

NO. These shades are very fragile, as they are only made of very thin paper, lightly glued to thin metal rings. Adding emulsion paint to the entire surface is likely to damage the shade as the thin paper and glue holding the strips of paper to the shade WILL NOT be able to cope with the moisture of the paint, and the paper shade is likely to deteriorate while painting.
ADDING ANY PAINT to ANY lampshade will make it A FIRE HAZARD! ESPECIALLY FLAMMABLE spray paints, as suggested by the last reply!

I have tgese throughout my home. Its not a spiral, theyre seperate hoops, held in place by the paper, so no, it will fall apart !

“ Apologies, it can not hold its shape if paper is removed as the shape is held by paper gluing on the metal wire frame. ”

If you look at the close up photo, the wire is a spiral, so yes it should keep the shape.
