About this product
This rug gives you comfort underfoot and blends into your space without any fuss. It's made from polypropylene with a short pile that's soft to walk on and keeps things practical. The charcoal shade fits easily into a wide range of interior styles, from modern lounges to cosy bedrooms. Each one's hand finished in the UK and made in limited-run quantities, so no two are exactly alike and you'll notice natural variations in pile height and colour.
The woven backing keeps it stable on your floor, and at 100x145cm it fits neatly under furniture or in smaller rooms. You just need to surface shampoo it when it needs freshening up, which keeps maintenance simple. The durable polypropylene material stands up to daily foot traffic and bounces back after use. Whether you're warming up a hallway or defining a seating area, it's a straightforward piece that does its job without any faff.

Customers Say
Good value rug with soft texture and decent quality for the price. Color variation and accuracy are common issues. Suitable size and easy to clean, but some find it thin or cheap looking.

Great Value and quality!
I bought this rug to place in front of my woodburner so I didn’t want to spend a fortune. Looks smart with a soft texture, great quality for the price and the perfect size for the space. Very happy 👍

Quite happy.
Second one I've bought and they do vary in colour as stated in the listing. Perfectly happy with the two-tone grey I now have and the dog loves his new rugs. He says "They really do tie the room together do they not?" but I think he may have got that from somewhere.

Not as described
Colour is not as described. I bought two rugs at the same time, they were delivered 4 days apart and were completely different colours, one cream and one brown, with completely different backings. It was then a nuisance to return and I am still waiting for the refund 3 weeks later. Such a shame as I like buying British made goods and supporting British firms .

Nice rug.
Happy with my purchase. The colour is lighter than it appeared to look on the screen, i would say it's more grey than charcoal. Easy to hoover and keep clean, doesn't move around on vinyl floor.

Hello Jac.
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Homemaker Relay Plain Charcoal Short Pile Rug - 100x145cm.
We don’t specifically test our products for use with underfloor heating, and there are a few important factors to keep in mind such as the type of flooring and the type of heating system you have.
General considerations
Placing a rug over underfloor heating means the system has to work harder, as the heat must pass through an additional layer before reaching the room. If using rug grip with the rug this adds an additional layer. Some floor coverings also have a maximum temperature they can safely withstand. These limits vary depending on the flooring type and manufacturer, so we always recommend checking your floor’s manual for guidance. Adding a rug on top of heated wooden floors may increase the surface temperature beyond the recommended limit, which can lead to long-term damage.
Rug-related considerations
Thickness: Thinner rugs allow heat to pass through more easily.
Material: Different fibres provide different levels of insulation.
Heat circulation: Low-pile, lightweight rugs typically allow better airflow and reduce the risk of overburdening the heating system.
Size and placement: Small to medium rugs help maintain even heat distribution, while larger rugs may trap heat.
Backing: Anti-slip or latex backings may not be suitable, as some materials can soften or melt when exposed to heat.
Construction: Some rugs contain higher amounts of latex or similar materials to anchor yarn within the rug, which may be affected by heat over time.
If you’re unsure, it’s best to consult the manufacturer of your flooring or heating system for specific advice.
