You need to work at sweeping but it gets fluffy cat fur off the carpet. Simple but effective.

No it does not come in a box as such. The head of the broom is covered by a small box type feature but the rest is not covered at all.

You need to twist the handle to unlock and you can pull to extend. When you have the desired height twist the handle back to lock in place.
