You need to tell each device to use it
Bought this because our new solar battery/ inverter couldn't connect consistently to our WiFi to make its app work. It didn't seem to be doing anything, but then I discovered this device doesn't magically make the signal go further once it is connected. You have to tell each device to use the extender instead of your router if the device is struggling on the WiFi. Had to get the installers to connect it to the solar things for us, but now the app is working. This also means the installers can see what our system is doing and help us with settings remotely, so the extender is doing its job. I don't think it would be very useful if your phone connects well to WiFi in some rooms but not others,as you would have to keep telling your phone to switch between connecting to router or to extender. The boost wasn't strong enough to use the internet on my phone while standing outside on the drive by the solar kit, but luckily the solar kit doesn't need such a strong signal to make the app work.

Improved and sleeker
I bought an older model close to 15 years ago, if not more. It never failed me and so, gifted it to my neighbour who didn’t want to have trailing cables for extending WiFi range. This prompted me to buy a replacement, which is smaller in size but much more better in design, as in, it’s not chunky

Essential buy
When living in a big hour where there re multiple rooms and think walls.... It does not help when the main router for WiFi is on the ground floor. This WiFi extender has been life saver in terms of WiFi stability or the hard to read h areas

No connection and no instructions
Bought this as an internet booster, having read the basic instruction on the box it wouldn’t show as a WiFi choice in the list. Resetting it didn’t help so went online to see if any help, there’s supposed to be instructions in the box which there wasn’t so regrettably it was returned
