About this product
A compact cabin bed frame that gives children a place to sleep and store their belongings within easy reach. It's designed for children aged four and over, with two central shelves for books and favourite toys, plus four deep drawers that tuck away clothes, games and bedtime bits. The pink and white finish brings a fresh, bright look to kids' bedrooms. The sturdy frame is safety tested to 100kg, so it handles daily use and bedtime adventures. Made in the UK and part of the Malibu collection.
The shelves sit at a handy height for little ones to grab what they need without help. Four drawers slide out smoothly and give plenty of space for organising clothes and toys. The compact design works well in smaller bedrooms without taking over the floor space. Requires self-assembly, two people recommended. Mattress sold separately. Pairs with Malibu collection mattresses for a complete sleep setup. Manufacturer's one year guarantee included.

Perfect for my 5 year old.
Achievable to build solo but as other reviews state there are a couple of moments where a second person or makeweight is useful to hold lengths of wood up. (Top tip don't let your 5 year old be that second person) Would have appreciated if the sections were stickered or labelled to speed up the process as multiple looks the same.

Bought this bed to give a fresh new look. Not the best item for stability but perfect if you want a challenge as no pieces are numbered up so its all guess work and time consuming.

Cheaply made
Would be a lovely bed but edges on the front panel are very rough and visible as it’s right in the front. Some parts had damaged corners and others had glue smothered all over. Shame as it would be a lovely bed otherwise.

Great Cabin Bed
My son loves it. I managed to build it myself but it took a long time. 2 builders would be best for some parts. The bed fits a standard single mattress quite well. It saves space because there is no headboard. We can now get into the other half of his built in wardrobe which was previously blocked.

This was extremely difficult to put together because of the unclear instructions. Once the bed was finally made it looked really good and sturdy. Although the sharp edges are slightly worrying. The storage in this bed is very useful and my daughter loves that she has room to store her books snd other niknaks.

This can be placed either side. There isn't a top or bottom (head/foot board) so you can turn it the side you want.

The supplier has advised the following for the Malibu Cabin Bed Frame - White and Acacia:
They advise that, for this height of bed, the distance of bed base from the floor, there are no safety requirements relating to mattress height/side rail height (as there are on the higher beds or bunk beds to prevent the occupant from rolling out of the bed).
They add this: “The side rails on this product primarily are there to retain the mattress within the frame and also for aesthetic reasons. Our suggestion is that the mattress is between 150mm and 200mm thick which is a typical thickness of many mattresses.”
(The images on our site, the mattresses (illustrative purposes only) are shown as being the same height as the bed rail).

For this height of bed, distance of bed base from the floor, there are no safety requirements relating to mattress height/side rail height as there are on higher beds – to prevent the occupant from rolling out of the bed. The side rails on this product primarily are there to retain the mattress within the frame and also for aesthetic reasons. Our suggestion is that the mattress is between 15cm and 20cm thick which is a typical thickness of many mattresses.
