About this product
A storage cabin bed that helps children keep their bedroom tidy while making bedtime easier. It's designed for children aged four and over, with built-in storage that puts toys, games and clothes within easy reach. The frame is made from wood effect material in a bright white finish with deep blue drawers that add a bold contrast. Two open shelves sit centrally for books or favourite items, while four drawers provide space for clothes and belongings. The low cabin height makes it easy for little ones to climb in and out safely.
The frame supports up to 100kg, so it works for children and adults. Self-assembly is required with two people recommended for setup. The drawers glide smoothly and provide plenty of depth for bulky items like blankets or soft toys. The open shelf layout keeps bedtime stories and essentials visible and accessible. Made in the UK as part of the Malibu collection. Mattress sold separately, designed to fit the single bed frame dimensions.

Bought this bed to give a fresh new look. Not the best item for stability but perfect if you want a challenge as no pieces are numbered up so its all guess work and time consuming.

Cheaply made
Would be a lovely bed but edges on the front panel are very rough and visible as it’s right in the front. Some parts had damaged corners and others had glue smothered all over. Shame as it would be a lovely bed otherwise.

Great Cabin Bed
My son loves it. I managed to build it myself but it took a long time. 2 builders would be best for some parts. The bed fits a standard single mattress quite well. It saves space because there is no headboard. We can now get into the other half of his built in wardrobe which was previously blocked.

This was extremely difficult to put together because of the unclear instructions. Once the bed was finally made it looked really good and sturdy. Although the sharp edges are slightly worrying. The storage in this bed is very useful and my daughter loves that she has room to store her books snd other niknaks.

A nice bed, simple to construct and seems sturdy
We bought this for our teenage daughter. It is a nice unit, was fairly simple and easy to put together and seems sturdy. The drawers are useful and seem pretty solid, but would be more useful if they were full-depth - there is a lot of wasted space behind the drawers.

The supplier has advised the following for the Malibu Cabin Bed Frame - White and Acacia:
They advise that, for this height of bed, the distance of bed base from the floor, there are no safety requirements relating to mattress height/side rail height (as there are on the higher beds or bunk beds to prevent the occupant from rolling out of the bed).
They add this: “The side rails on this product primarily are there to retain the mattress within the frame and also for aesthetic reasons. Our suggestion is that the mattress is between 150mm and 200mm thick which is a typical thickness of many mattresses.”
(The images on our site, the mattresses (illustrative purposes only) are shown as being the same height as the bed rail).

For this height of bed, distance of bed base from the floor, there are no safety requirements relating to mattress height/side rail height as there are on higher beds – to prevent the occupant from rolling out of the bed. The side rails on this product primarily are there to retain the mattress within the frame and also for aesthetic reasons. Our suggestion is that the mattress is between 15cm and 20cm thick which is a typical thickness of many mattresses.

I am unable to answer your query fully as you have not provided details of the actual bed guard. Most bed guard fit under the mattress if this is the case then yes a bed guard can be used with this bed.

It depends on the bed guard, if it fits under the mattress as most of them appear to do then it should be ok. The thing to watch will be where the bed guard pivots to fold down, to make sure this fits over the side rail.
