Short Lifespan .
Stopped working after only a year of use. We didn't use it immediately after buying and kept it boxed. Now it is out of warranty and useless . Keeps telling us to plug in and then doesn't start. Have used all trouble shooting tips with no joy.

Great Machine but does not last the course!
I bought this Foodi Max just over three years ago and it has been fantastic, it is so versatile. Air fry and Pressure cooking are my go to selections when cooking dinners for the family. Now, it has broken. I am very disappointed, the slider will not activate any of the programs (air fryer / Steam meals or pressure cooker), what seems a well made kitchen device is now useless. This should be lasting for many years not just three. Looking at some of the responses on this item and it seems this is a fairly common problem. I'll have to start a search again to find which maker may offer a dependable product over a longer period of time. Not sure if any are as versatile as this though.

Loved it whilst it worked
I bought this having read the reviews and accepted that its weak point was going to be the smart lid. It is fabulous for our first real introduction into air fryers and multi cookers. However, two years on and it is struggling... And yes, the issue is the smart lid. Shutting the lid often doesn't show as shut, I can manually set the button, but not in the shut position, and even when it shows as shut it often doesn't register the slider position correctly now. All issues that with a little research you can see are fairly common issues with this particular model. For the price, it is disappointing, but as I say I knew these reviews existed. So, two years on and rather than waste my time trying to persuade ninja that it is a common fault yada... yada... yada... With the stress, time I've had the product and the very low likelihood of getting any real help I have accepted that my 15 in 1 is now a training tool for the local college to take apart and mess about with (top tip for anyone with old appliances, local colleges love this sort of donation for real life tech/repair training for their students). That said, I have fallen in love with the idea of an air fryer, and talking to work colleagues and friends have decided that sticking with ninja is still the way forward. I loved the quality and consistency of my food, and felt that the actual air fryer ability was as good as it gets, certainly none of the issues over inconsistent cooking temperatures that other brands seem to struggle with. So, I am trying a different air fryer, and not recommending the smart lid idea at all. My advice for what it's worth - ninja, but not this version.

Pot not fit for purpose. Bad design
The Ninja oven is fantastic. Unfortunately the pot is not fit for purpose. I bought a Ninja 15 and loved it . however after a few years, the pot became distorted at the top so the Ninja failed to operate as a pressure cooker. Ninja company replaced the whole oven, with no problem whatsoever. Great. However, two and one half years later, the exact same problem has happened with the pot. Whoever is responsible for designing the pots is useless. Ninja needs a complete rethink on the design of the pot.

Smartlid Multi-Cooker
This is a formidable piece of equipment! My wife was an excellent cook and apart from planning the menu and a bit of chopping my services were no longer required. Sadly that is no longer the situation and, in my bereavement, I purchased this smartlid multi-cooker to help me provide meals for my self and grown up son who is with me at present. I also bought a slow cooker cookery book, So far I have only used thre slow cook function but I have found this cooker easy to use and excellent in function if the meals I have produced are anything to go by. I will certainly be using thre other functions as I get bolder and more confident with my menus - something to look forward to. I am pleased with ther purchase.

Hello MegC,
The supplier has advised the following for the Ninja Foodi MAX 15-in-1 SmartLid 7.5L Multi Cooker Air Fryer:
The proving temperature of this is 35 Β°C. You donβt directly add steam as such, you add 250ml of water to the pot. The itemβs user manual will provide further details as the process may vary between different types of bread/loaves. There's no reference to use of any silicone liners though, it refers to baking parchment. On this basis, we'd have to advise against their use.
Thank you for using Q&A.
