Customers Say
Russell Hobbs iron is lightweight, easy to use, and effective at removing wrinkles with good steam. Some find the cable too short and steam less powerful. Good value for money and reliable for everyday ironing.

New Iron
Bought to replace an Iron that was 15 years old. Design moved on but not good. Eg filling with water you open the resevoir side ways. And the cable is a lot shorter, which is compromising when operating

Does what it says on the box....
A great simple to use product and Argos excellent as ever. I was on a tight budget and this was a good balance or price and capability. Only thing, I wish all irons had 3m leads, this only has 2m. But I guess you can't have it all.

Hello Abbo,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Russell Hobbs 23970 Speedglide PRO Steam Iron: ''Please be advised that iron should be on the highest temperature setting for steam to come out.''
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hello Mason,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Russell Hobbs 23970 Speedglide PRO Steam Iron: silk can be ironed, but it should always be done with care. We recommend using the lowest heat setting (one dot) and avoiding the steam function when ironing silk.
For best results, the garment should be slightly damp or ironed using a pressing cloth placed between the iron and the fabric to prevent shine or damage.
It’s also a good idea to test the iron on a small, inconspicuous area first and to always follow the care label instructions on the garment.
Thank you for using Q&A.

Most of the holes are covered so as not to burn porridge when ironing it.
Hello Theresa,
The supplier has advised the following for the Russell Hobbs Speedglide PRO Steam Iron:
“ The most of the holes are closed on the sole plate because that is the design used for this model. ”

Hi Shaz,
Our supplier has advised, you may use the iron with tap-water, but if you live in a hard water area, you should use distilled water (not chemically descaled or softened water).
If you buy distilled water, check that it’s suitable for use in irons.
I hope this helps.
Thanks for using Q&A
Can use tap water, but generally better to use distilled or bottled water to prolong life.
