Works and is fast
I usually get samsung drives, and was not disappointed with this one for a relative's pc. Just works, plug and play. Remember to get a drive bay adapter and cables if needed.

Works like a dream
Bought it to fix slow starts that were being caused by my old HDD that came pre-installed. After swapping it over with the Samsung Evo, my desktop is much faster in startups and opens my apps in rea time.

On motherboard worked fine, with usb boot managed to install os on it. When used with second caddy wasn recognised. The ssd is good and has 5 years waranty cost more then pny ssd( first option) but i think it s worth it.

Great piece of kit!
I have fitted two of these now, both into older laptops that had slow, old, hard disc drives. Turn on times have improved from 3 - 4 minutes to 30 - 40 seconds, transfer rates from 70Mbs to 450Mbs etc. Thoroughly recommended. You'll need a USB to SATA cable, £3 on ebay and the included software to migrate your old drive to the new and then just fit it and go....seamless.

Excelent Samsung SSD
There was no problem buying from Argos. There was a problem with installing the drive to my Desktop computer. It came with a booklet in every? known language indicating that to migrate data to it from the existing hard drive (C), it should be temporally connected to the computer using a SATA to USB cable, not supplied. I bought a cable but this did NOT work. Phoned help number, in Holland, & was told no this doesn't work! it has to be connected internally. So connected in place of one of the other hard drives, & managed to get it to migrate the data across. Then fitted it in place of the original hard drive (C) it has worked perfictly ever since.

I found this on the Argos website when searching for external storage options and didn't read the small print. When I picked it up, the box had no information on it about being internal, and it wasn't until I opened it that I found it didn't have a USB cable and I didn't know how to use it. Argos would not let me return it as I had opened it, and the best option that Argos could suggest was that I try and sell it on. I sought help elsewhere and was told I needed a SATA to USB adaptor, and these are available as an enclosure that you put the internal drive in. I'm posting this so that anybody who makes the same mistake as me realises there is an option.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Samsung 870 EVO 500GB Internal SSD.
870 EVO is an internal drive for direct connection to a SATA III port. It is not designed for external use with a USB adapter.
An external device such as a USB flash drive, external HDD, or Samsung PSSD card can be used with the TV.

Therefore we do not have experience with the mentioned system.
The SSD should be connected to a Sata port, on a mainboard.

Changing from an HDD to an SSD will be a speed increase either way. However, you will then be limited by the processor as well as the memory speed.
