Cut hair 2x faster (vs predecessor) with the Philips Series 5000 Hair Clipper for men, thanks to DualCut and Trim-n-Flow Pro technology. The innovative comb design allows cut hair to flow away from the blades during use, preventing even long hair from getting stuck in the comb, so you can start and finish your style without interruption. The clipper also features Turbo mode, which increases the speed of the motor to power through cutting thicker hair.
Get the perfect cut time after time with long-lasting self-sharpening blades. The steel blades lightly brush against one another - sharpening themselves as they work. This results in blades that are sharp as day 1, even after 5 years of use.
Choose from 28 lock-in length settings! Just turn the zoom wheel to select and lock in the length you want. 2 adjustable combs cut between 3mm and 28mm, with precisely 1mm between each length. Use the stubble comb of 2mm for a short haircut, or to style your beard. Remove the comb entirely for a close 0.5mm trim.

I bought this a few weeks ago ago to replace a previous version ( purchased in lockdown) where the plastic attachment l use most had broken This latest version appears to be an improvement on the previously very reliable one

Too large and clumsy.
Is this a beard clipper or hair clipper even Phillips seem confused. It is not as compact as earlier models nor as easy to use. It is clumsy rather than intuitive in use. It is disappointing as I was pleased with the previous model and this is a backward step.

Won’t cut 1mm or 1.5mm
Unfortunately this won’t cut 1mm or 1.5mm long, you have a choice of 0.5mm without a comb, or 2mm with the stubble comb, which is a shame because otherwise it looks good. This isn’t made clear in the advertising. Returned for a refund.

You can can the beard comb supplied with the device for a 2 MM cut, and without using any of the combs the clipper will cut at 0.5 MM - there is no setting for 1 MM. After checking with our supplier, they have advised: These specific hair clippers do not need to get oiled, however you are advised to wash the trimmer part after every usage for the best maintenance of your device.
