About this product
The Habitat Compton Bookcase organises your books, ornaments and everyday bits without taking up much floor space. Its tall, narrow design fits neatly against walls or into alcoves, maximising vertical space in living rooms, bedrooms or home offices. The clean matt white finish and smooth cut-out handles give it a streamlined look that suits most furniture styles. It has five shelves, three adjustable to fit taller books, photo frames, or storage boxes. Two bottom drawers tuck away smaller items like remote controls, chargers or paperwork out of sight.
The shelves are extra deep, so there's plenty of room for chunky hardback books or wider items without them overhanging. The two drawers glide smoothly and provide hidden storage at the base. Wall-mounting fixings are included, and you'll want to use them because this unit's over 180cm tall, that's really important for stability and safety. Self-assembly's required, and everything you need comes in the box. Covered by a one-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Exactly what we wanted.
We brought 2 of these book cases to re-organise our storage in a small room. It’s good quality for the money and we are very pleased with it. The instructions are fairly if . We found It needs 2 of you to assemble it easily. The drawers at the bottom are extremely handy , and the shelves are nice and deep, and I like that you can adjust the height of most of the shelves.

Easy to assemble, draws are robust to take quite a pounding pulling and pushing in and out along with the structure of the whole Bookcase

Looks nice but definitely a budget bookcase
Martial parts not numbered, some screws say are in the bag one but actually in with drawers runners. The back comes in 3 sections small medium and large. Although you do tack it on with pins around the edges there is just tape holding the sections together. This is grey tape so you can see it on both side. The drawers are not very wide or deep, there is a lot of wasted space at the back. No matter where you place the shelves there is not much room for taller items. Not bad for the price but I also feel it could be a little cheaper for what it is.

The product unfortunately isn’t as visually appealing as it looks in the photos. Not as sturdy as you’d assume however its function is still good.

Yes, shelves can be removed from this unit. As can be seen in the assembly manual (linked below) there are 2 shelves fixed in position, and 3 adjustable shelves.

The drawers on the Habitat Compton 2 Drawer Bookcase - Black are removable however, if left out, the base would be the extra shelf, it would not be possible to add an additional shelf in between the two drawers for example. However, we would not recommend the use in this way.
