My first purchase from this company
I'm replacing my BBQ after eight years, and this is everything I was hoping for. Quality is very high for the price. Putting the barbecue together was easy, with clear instructions, and they give you all the tools you need. Went back to the website, but the barbecue set and cover, because value for money, it's 100%

Used the bbq and found it really good being able to adjust the height of the coals. Love the drawer to catch the ash and found cleaning really easy. Haven’t used the smoker yet so don’t know about that. This is a superbly robust bbq and I think will keep going for a very long time. There is nothing flimsy about how it is made . I also ordered the tools which are great.

XL American Style Charcoal BBQ with Smoker
Saw the BBQ recommended in the Daily Telegraph, as a good all round purchase and as we were looking to buy a new one I went for it. I had never heard of VonHaus before, however, this has been an excellent experience. From the minute of ordering on the web through to delivery and arrival, with positive communication throughout. The BBQ arrived and as I wanted to build it outside I waited a few days for good weather. It was amazingly packed and was unpacked with no missing items, which was a relief. All the separate components were individually numbered and were undamaged. I had seen a few reviews of the build on the net and it appeared as it could be a long process with problems. TBF the build was straight forward, if you followed the des(ins)tructions. They are stepped out in a really good way and each step follows. There was a little thought process as item 32 (brackets that hold the fuel grate to the bars) was not identified on the instruction, so this took a few minutes to review and sort out. It took about 90 minutes overall to build. Extremely sturdy and looks really nice, we are now looking forward to firing up. Excellent value for money, as was the cover we bought with it!!

This is a fabulous BBQ.
This is a fabulous BBQ. It's really sturdy with a cast iron grill on the two shelf version, no wobbling. The ability to change the height of the coals is absolutely brilliant, together with the warming rack and the large grilling area it is really good for cooking lots of different foods. The ash tray is easy to remove. It's not difficult to build, although It takes a while because it's well built. , The instructions are good and the components are well packaged; no sorting through screws to work out which is which, different sizes are packaged separately. This BBQ is exactly what we wanted.

Great Bbq
Very pleased with my purchase of the XL BBQ. Have used it about 4-5 times so far so still getting used to it. Never had one with a hood before. Managed to assemble it on my own in about two and half to three hours. Some awkward bits but if you look at the next page it should make sense. Great cooking area and I like the solid cooking grills. Only suggestion for improvement would be the coals tray could have deeper sides (about double the height they are now) as this would allow more charcoal.

Impressive
I have now used my barbecue several times and consider it to be a sound purchase. . It arrived very well packaged, with simple assembly instructions. It is a solid piece of kit which is my latest bbq buy for I have several down my years,but here I have found one worthy of recommendations. It is of good quality and will certainly last for it's solid. Enjoy!

A brilliant BBQ
This BBQ is basically the Landmann BBQ that I bought about twelve years ago. However, since it is no longer made - as far as I know - I bought this one. Identical size, even down to the grills which I kept when I scrapped my old one. The differences: smarter, better system for raising the coal bed and better end tables. Could I recommend it? Yes, absolutely, it's a brilliant BBQ and should last us for years.

There is a gap when closing the lid which means that heat will escape out. This will affect the cooking and is unfortunate.
