Great carpet protector
Had this a few weeks and it is certainly a good product. Right size, offers carpet protection, competitive price and it came flat packed. Grips the carpet and because it was flat packed it was easy to fit.

We now have two of these and they work very well on medium pile carpet - tthey are quite thick, rigid plastic with small spikes on one side and have proven durable and effective. I am not light, but my chair wheels now move smoothly instead of sticking, and the new carpet has remained undented, although the protector itself has acquired some slight dents. I've moved the one we've had for 6 months a couple of times to fix its creep in the direction you move the chair most, but otherwise they are maintenance-free Very pleased with them.

Got this because carpet under my desk chair starting to ruck slightly. Wish I'd got one earlier because it has completely stopped this from happening. It doesn't slide around because of the bobbles underneath. Also slim enough that the corner of it easily passes under the box room door.

Great for protecting carpets
I bought this a few weeks ago as we got new carpets in our boys bedrooms. It has been brilliant to protect the carpet and for eas of use with the computer chairs, the little spikes on the bottom kept the mat firmly in place absolutely great buy. We are getting another one for our office once that has been carpeted too.

Our supplier has advised that the Argos Home Chair Mat is not recommended for use with underfloor heating. PVC can soften or warp when exposed to constant heat, and this may lead to discolouration, odours, or the mat wearing out more quickly. It can also act as an insulator, preventing heat from transferring efficiently into the room. In some cases, prolonged heat exposure can even cause the mat to stick to the floor or damage the flooring beneath it.
For underfloor heating, it’s best to choose a mat that is specifically labelled as heat-resistant or suitable for use with heated floors.

Not thick at all bur hard enough for a roller chair. The delivery comes in a flat box. So no uncomfortable irrritating straightening.

This can be used on a woollen carpet.
We have never had an issues with mould as there is not an air tight seal around the mat.

The supplier advises that it may not be suitable, saying: "We would recommend the other floor mat which is the hard floor version which is 916/7171, this would be better for vinyl floor, as the carpet floor mat would maybe leave some indentations in the vinyl."

I would say this cannot be cut as it is really sturdy. Scissors would definitely not cut it.
