I bought this to replace an old plastic blender because I'm trying to use more natural materials in my cooking and food prep. It's a heavy, solid jug with some plastic around the base that I can't remove for washing, but the jug doesn't get scratched like the old plastic one used to I was hoping to be able to put it in the dishwasher but I never put plastic in

We would not recommend using this for biscuits for cheesecake bases. We would recommend using a food processor or the perfect mix blender.

The supplier has advised the following for the Tefal Blendforce II 1.75L Glass Jug Blender:
The product is not a soup maker and is not a blender for boiling liquids above 80 degrees centigrade. So, whilst it’s not suitable for making soups, it can take hot liquids in as long as they’re below 80 degrees centigrade. The supplier says that they would never recommend that a consumer place liquid that is above 80 degrees.

As this answer has come directly from the supplier it would be correct that it is not recommended to use anything hot in this mixer. If you wanted to make soup it would need blending before heating.
