Glad I bought this as it was so much better looking than I thought it would be. It was easy to put together just needed to give my husband a hand to hold it as he put it together. The colour is nice and gives of a lovely glow when on and a lot of heat on all the settings. Only drawback is it is a little light and if I had young children, I would secure it to the wall incase it toppled over, there are bracket included to fix it to wall. The price was good and well worth the money.

Yes, the fire is flush to the wall. The cable goes under the hearth. The surround is oak, but not varnished, but it's very easy to assemble and does look nice when in position.

Having checked the manual I can see there is a small hole at the back of the hearth in the middle for the power cable to be tucked through. It then goes under the hearth to the side that your power socket is on.
